Market Place.
Mr Peter Taylor is standing in front of the two shops 42 Market place, Pickering, that will be closing down along with the supply business to other shops and eating establishments in the area, on March 5th. 2026.
The business was opened in 1968 by his parents Les. and Joan, along with their son Keith.
The fruit and veg shop is on the left and later the Fisheries shop opened on the right.
Peter has helped the family with the running of the business after the death of his brother seven years ago, when he became a partner. They will all be missed in the town and we wish Peter and the Taylor Family well in the future. The photograph was taken by G. Clitheroe on March 2nd. 2026.

Our bread and butter, without these senior cuts our mornings would be quiet! Also we have been looking back at the shop from when we took it over from the lovely Sharon, to 4 years later! Can’t believe we have been in Pickering 4 years and 4 years previously in Kirkbymoorside! 8 years in business 🙌 and a wee shout out from Pickering past and Present this week too 🤗
