Qualified Equine Sports Massage Therapist Sports Massage Therapy is a great way to loosen up tight muscles, relax spasms and relieve tension.

I qualified as an Equine Sports Massage Therapist through TCAP (The Colleague of Animal Physiotherapy) in September 2022 and am currently enrolled on their Diploma for Animal Physiotherapy. Other benefits include improved circulation, greater range of motion and enhanced muscle tone. Horses of all shapes and sizes will benefit from Sports Massage Therapy whether they are in full swing of the competition season or just a happy hacker.

This week I met Brina and Whispa for their first treatments. They both welcomed me and trusted me to help them, Whispa needed plenty of Red Light using my .therapy.tech to relax but once she was there she let me in with my hands.

Not all horses relax this much at their first appointment sometimes they need a few sessions to trust me and I’m always happy to tailor appointments to the benefit your horse

I am now on holiday for the next 10 days but I’ll still have my diary with me so feel free to drop me a message if you want to get booked in as we only have a few spaces left this month and limited availability in July too

Spent the end part of last week in Oxford on a Practical Training Day with The College of Animal Physiotherapy.
Then I headed out with my mentor and previous employer for an extra day and as always learnt so much with her - thank you Kate x

After washing off 3 horses and 4 ponies coming in from the fields to go back in their stables to cool off
Do you like my clean sock line?

Bringing in the horses during the day and keeping them out at night is one way you can help them in a heatwave

These were my essentials this morning in this really hot weather.
Up and out early to keep the dogs and horses as cool as possible.
Now it’s time to work on cooling myself down too 😂

What did you change today to keep you and your fury loved ones safe?

Arthur and I were up early this morning to avoid the hot temperatures and he’s now inside with the curtains closed keeping as cool as possible

Things to think about keeping your horses cool too:
🐴 Bring them into their stables during the day and put them out at night (if your stable isn’t a hot box)
🐴 Make sure they have plenty of water - it doesn’t hurt to give them an extra bucket just in case
🐴 Provide shade if they are turned out 24/7
🐴 Make fun horse popsicles - freeze treats or veggies in diluted apple juice and give in a feed bucket
What extra measures will you take?

Last night I joined a webinar hosted by Cavalor with the subject of “Keeping Your Horse Sound”
Speakers were Gillian Higgins from Horses Inside Out and Dr Caroline Loos who is a Nutritional specialist and head of research for Cavalor

Really interesting and informative on how to support your horse to prevent injury and weakness with using the right balance of bodily exercises and what you feed them
These webinars are a great opportunity to ask questions 👍🏻
Thank you guys
