Babyliss Pro Cordless Clipper RepairJane sent us her Babyliss Pro barbers clipper to repair. She had removed the blades for cleaning and could not get them to work again. We cleaned and repaired the clipper, sharpened the blades and offered Jane the option of fitting a new battery if required.

Khalid a hairdresser in Sheffield sent us his much loved Wahl Detailer trimmer which is damaged and the blades longer stay on. The Wahl 5 star detailer is an excellent trimmer popular with hairdressers. A common fault is the blade breaking off the trimmer and it can't be re attached. Cost to repair was £42 in total (£20 parts, £7 sharpen trimmer blade and £15 trimmer service) plus £4.30 postage. Thanks Khalid for sending your trimmer, its working very nicely after being repaired. 🖐

Can I sharpen my own clipper blades?
– No (Not Usually!)
Sharpening clipper blades is not like sharpening a Knife where you make 1 sharp edge. Clipper blades have 2 edges which slide past each other and must be in close contact.
Normal DIY sharpening on a flat sharpening stone makes the inside surfaces of the clipper blade convex and when you put these convex surfaces together the cutting teeth are splayed apart and will not cut.

Are your Wahl Arco or Wahl Adelar Clippers running slowly?
After 1 or 2 years the performance of these clippers can gradually decrease. Fitting a new motor will fix this. Cost £8 for motor alone and £20 for us to fit it. 👍
