What is ?
Hepatitis is a liver disease caused by the hepatitis virus which could be easily contracted from a victim through contact of body fluids. This could be either through sexual contact, blood contact or even saliva. It could also be contracted if by chance a person consumes the waste passed out from a carrier. Slight contact with these fluids can transmit the disease.
What are the symptoms of ?
If you have infectious forms of hepatitis that are chronic, like hepatitis B and C you may not have symptoms in the beginning. Symptoms may not occur until the damage affects the liver function.

Defect of the week: Ventricular Septal Defect
POSTED ON JULY 10, 2014
This week, we will be discussing a more common, but less life-threatening congenital heart defect. We will be discussing what is called a Ventricular Septal Defect.
Children with a Ventricular Septal Defect have a hole between the lower two chambers of the heart, called the ventricles.. In a normal heart, oxygen-rich(red) and oxygen-poor(blue) blood are separated by chambers. The red blood traveling through the two left chambers, and the blue blood traveling through the two right chambers.
When there is a hole between the left and right ventricles, the red and blue blood mix, sending oxygen-rich blood back to the lungs, and oxygen-poor blood back to the rest of the body, which is no good!
The side effects of this defect include fatigue, trouble eating and gaining weight, breathlessness, and high blood pressure which can cause permanent damage to the blood vessels. This defect can also cause the heart to enlarge because it has to work extra hard to pump more oxygen-rich blood to the body.
One way to tell if a newborn baby has this defect is if the child gets tired from simply eating, and falls asleep before finishing it’s food. Many times, if the hole is small, it will close up on it’s own over time. But if the hole is too large to do so, it must be closed surgically.
Cardiologists often will use a small umbrella-like device to plug up the hole, which can be easily done using a cardiac catheter. This way the child doesn’t have to endure open heart surgery, which takes much longer to recover from. After closing the hole by catheterization, recovery time is usually only a few days to a week long, and then the child can live a normal, healthy life.
Below is the umbrella-like device mentioned above that is used to close the hole. What is called a septal occluder. (However, there are multiple types of closure devices, but all look very similar to this.) FOR MORE INFORMATION'S, KINDLY CALL +233278872442.

Many of us think the key to losing weight boils down to two simple concepts: exercising more and eating less. In reality, however, that’s a common misconception, and miles far from the case! Shedding pounds and melting fat doesn’t come from purely calorie counting or sweating it out on the treadmill. Instead, achieving your weight loss goals is made possible by tweaking your lifestyle, as well as making subtle changes to your daily routine. These small, simple changes add up and make it easier to lose inches while setting you up for long-term weight loss. FOR MORE INFORMATION'S, KINDLY CALL OR WHATSAPP +233278872442
