💈💇🏽‍♀️Ama’s Salon💈💇🏽
Set in 2056, this project reimagines an African hair salon as a site of healing, resistance, and transformation using the
using the BRAID2BRAIN Interface, pioneered by a hair braider and neurotechnologist named Ama.

What if braid-ups could heal? What if our beauty rituals could reconfigure memory, spark joy, or awaken courage? Are the risks of accessing intimate brain data worth the promise of mental health?

Super proud to have worked on Ama’s Salon, a speculative Afrofuturist project set in 2056. Teaming up with Asia Clarke we created powerful, cohesive looks where hair and makeup told each character’s story. An inspiring journey of bold ideas, deep analysis, and next-level creativity.

This 13-piece series debuts at the African Feminisms Gathering 2025 at , Johannesburg.

Presented with African Feminisms, a Goethe-Institut project supported by the German Federal Foreign Office.
