PPH is the leading cause of maternal death in the developing world and in high resource countries, according to the World Health Organization.

PPH FACTS

•"Even with appropriate management, approximately 5% of obstetric patients will experience PPH, and 1% of vaginal deliveries will result in severe PPH." 1
•"More than half of all maternal deaths occur within 24 hours of delivery, most commonly from excessive bleeding. An estimated 140,000 women die of postpartum hemorrhage each year worldwide. That's 1 every 4 minutes." 2
