RHQ OUTREACH TO ABURA AHMADIYYA SCHOOL – SUPPORT FOR 9-YEAR-OLD ORPHAN
1. Background and Objective
As part of RHQ’s annual plans, we seek ways to touch lives in humble but meaningful ways. This year, during a school visit, we identified a 9-year-old girl in Class 3 at Abura Ahmadiyya School who is an orphan. She was attending school in an oversized, gifted uniform, with worn-out shoes, and without a school bag or exercise books.
RHQ mobilized support to provide her with a new school uniform, bag, shoes, and exercise books. The uniform was sewn free of charge by a member of RHQ who runs Debzie Couture, as her contribution to the cause.
2. Program Proceedings
The team, led by Stephanie Panford, visited the school to carry out the presentation. The programme proceeded as follows:
Opening Prayer: Stephanie Panford opened with a prayer to dedicate the programme.
Exhortation on Learning: Yvonne spoke to the pupils about the importance of education and staying committed to learning despite challenges.
Talk on Contentment: Florence addressed the students on being content with what one has and finding gratitude in small blessings.
Purpose of the Presentation: Stephanie explained the concept behind the outreach. She emphasized that one does not need to have everything in life before helping others, and encouraged the pupils to cultivate a giving spirit, noting that giving attracts God’s blessings.
3. Presentation and Impact
The items were formally presented to the beneficiary. With the help of her class teacher, she changed into the new uniform, shoes, and bag on the spot.
While she changed, the other pupils shared the career paths they hoped to pursue, creating a lively and inspiring atmosphere. When the beneficiary returned in her new school uniform, bag, shoes, and exercise books, she was visibly filled with joy and confidence.
4. Closing
A series of photos were taken to document the event and encourage others to support similar causes. The program ended with a closing prayer.

PRESENTATION OF BARBERING START-UP KIT TO MICHELLE
Michelle, a speech and hearing impaired young woman from Cape Coast, ventured into barbering after being encouraged by Mr. Michael Tagoe. She currently works at a barbering shop in Accra to gain experience and build her skills. Despite her dedication, Michelle faces challenges that limit her income. She reports that when male clients arrive with their girlfriends or wives, they often prevent her from cutting their hair due to fears that she might develop a relationship with their partners. This bias has significantly reduced her earnings at the end of each month.
Members of the RHQ WhatsApp group, moved by Michelle’s determination and her dream of one day owning her own barbering shop, decided to support her with a start-up kit. The items donated include a hair clipper, trimmer, spirit spray bottle, apron, and hair brush/duster. The goal is to help Michelle build her own client base and take a step closer to becoming her own boss.
The presentation was made on behalf of the RHQ WhatsApp group by Mr. Michael Tagoe and Ms. Gladys Coleman. In receiving the items, Michelle expressed heartfelt gratitude to all members of the group for believing in her and supporting her journey. She noted that the support gives her hope and practical tools to begin working toward her long-term goal of running her own barbering business.
