TITLE - GODLY WAY
SPOKEN WORD PIECE BY DANIEL ACHEAMPONG
Godliness in its simplest term is being like Christ or pursuing the Christlike life. Jesus Himself showed us how to be pleasing to the Father, conformed to His will, and molded to His character. If you want to raise a godly child, you must model godliness in your life and in your parenting.
Godly parenting means engaging your children in a way that absolutely reflects the life and Words of Jesus Christ. To parent in a way that pleases God, you must seek, depend on and live through Christ.
Godly parenting requires far more than tips and techniques. It begins with knowing the Father. It's not merely a matter of external effort and method, but involves connecting our heavenly Father to our earthly children through our care, love and discipline.
Our Fatherhood of God establishes the foundation for all human parenting, and this is a pillar for Christian parents and for considering in what ways in particular they should imitate our Father in their parenting.
Raising up a child in a godly way should be every parent's preeminence. Without your effort in doing so, your child might grow up being a social outcast or end up being a deviant or an anomalous person in the society. Jehovah God expects that we raise our wards in a godly manner and so we must adhere to this call. That is the reason the Bible adjures in Proverbs 22:6, saying, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
Most times it is flabergasting how some parents themselves condone their children to involve in certain unconscionable acts and practices in the society. They don't mind whether their children live their own lives or live the life that is antithetical to the life of Jesus Christ. They would sometimes whitewash their children in their wrong doings which could possibly end up in the detriment of the child one day. This is an abomination!
Thus, in raising their children in a godly way, parents must;
- Set themselves as good examples to their children.
- Always pray and intercede for their children.
- Teach their children how to pray
- Entreat their children to pray and read their Bible always.
- Teach their children about the Word of God.
- Make sure they always attend church services with their children.
- Encourage their children to involve themselves in church activities.
- Instruct their children to attend church services always.
- Check on the kind of friends their children associate themselves with.
Children are considered our future leaders. They are our most important assets. They are the foundation and hope for our future. And so they must be well trained, educated and much more disciplined.
Now, it is to the betterment of children when parents have utmost time for them in their domestic homes. Parents must always seek for the spiritual welfare of their children. You see, when children are raised in a godly way, they will always love God and the things of God and grow up to become good and disciplined personalities in the society. God wants every parent to raise their children in a godly way.

GODLY WAY - EPISODIC NOVEL BY DANIEL ACHEAMPONG
Prince Ampadu happens to be my name. I am a male by gender. I came from a Christian home. My family was really concerned about spiritual things even though my mum was somewhat pampering me.
I grew up a Christian but along the line I went wayward. Coming from an affluent home where children are spoilt and are allowed to do things without so much check. I lived recklessly. My mum was just behind all. My dad always kept an eye on me and tried to discipline (rebuke and chastize) me whenever he sees am going astray. But my mum would just oppose and combat with my dad. She thought I should be left to do my own thing simply because I am of age and needs to enjoy the pleasures of life and not to be put to pressure.
I was the first of the children of my parents. My dad was very rich and owned lots of companies. I really relied on my dad's riches and even thought the world was for me. I was then in the university where I got pressurized the more by peers. Womanizing and clubbing on campus was just a normal thing for me.
My dad really cared about me and always tried to rebuke (correct) me whenever he realized I was not doing the right thing. He noticed I had changed completely from the Christian ways though. Most at the time on vacations I would be bringing my girlfriends to my family house. At times, they would sleep overnight but my mum would cover up for me. My dad really got disturbed about my character along the line.
One day, I was in my room, in my hostel when one of my girlfriends came in complaining she was pregnant again. I never bordered and was not alarmed because that was no news with my girls. We had our own ways of aborting it and that was "professional" we all thought. She was worried and terrified to abort it the third time because she thought it might cost her. I cooled her down and tried to encourage her it wouldn't happen again. She agreed to do it again so I smiled.
In the next few days she came over and we did it. I gave her the substance I used to give them. She took it and just within some few minutes, she complained of her stomach and died. I really became perturbed and queasy about the whole incident. I didn't know what to do. I had become worn-out like somebody who had digged the land for almost three days. I just died within me.
In few hours, the whole incidence spread through the hostel and the school and I was arrested for murder. It was just left with me to face the law.

GODLY WAY - RANTING BY DANIEL ACHEAMPONG
Some parents do think life is just about living your life the way you want it. They always think life is just about living your own life and so never bother to educate their wards or bring them up in a godly manner. They just don't care how their children behave, how they talk, how they dress, the foods they eat, where they go to, when they come home and even the people they associate themselves with. Woow!
That's very scandalous and pathetic the way some parents handle their children's issues and try to whitewash it even when they are doing the wrong things.
More to it, some parents (mothers) mostly think they are rich already and that the world is all about money. And so they think like, "why should I just be hard on my children?" Or in other words, "why should I put my children to pressure?" But that's not the case. You should discipline your children. And that doesn't mean you are putting them to pressure. The Bible says, what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul. Would you prefer to get the riches of the world and lose your soul?
They only forget the ways of Christ. Christ is disciplined and so wants His people or followers to be disciplined. You can't just live your life the way you want it as a Christian. You need to reflect the Christ in you, follow the footsteps of Christ and assume His mind.
Parents must stop pampering their children and show them the ways of Christ. They must train and bring them up in a godly way.

STORY (WRITTEN SKIT/SHORT FILM) BY DANIEL ACHEAMPONG
TITLE - GODLY WAY
SCENE 1 - DURING DEVOTION IN MR AMPADU'S HOME (ONE MORNING)
Mr. Desmond Ampadu had been married to Mrs. Regina Ampadu. They had two children, a boy and a girl. The boy was the oldest and was in the university. Mr. Ampadu was very affluent. They were Christians too. One morning, during devotion, when they were all seriously praying, Mr. Ampadu's son, Prince was just dozing off in the midst of the prayer. His dad realized that and said nothing. After the prayers when they were discussing the Bible, he was still dozing off and never concentrated. His dad drew everybody's attention and woke him up. He asked him why he was not concentrating again this time around and he began murmuring that he went to a party with his friends. His dad asked him when he came back home and he said that was the time they closed. He said again that he had to hang out with his friends. He angrily stood up and went out of the living room. His dad was short of words. He asked them to continue. Those present were; Mr. Ampadu, Mrs. Regina, Prince, Alice their daughter and Afia, their house maid.
SCENE 2 - IN THEIR BEDROOM (ONE NIGHT)
One night, in their bedroom, Mr. Ampadu called on Mrs. Regina to talk to her whiles preparing to sleep. She sat on the bed and listened to her husband. Mr. Ampadu asked her why she keeps being mute whenever their son was going wayward and obstreperous, and at times even tries to defend him. She told him he is of age and so knows what's good for him. Besides, she sees nothing wrong with their son. She told him he should allow the young boy to live his life. She also said he needs to live in his comfort zone and not to be put to pressure. She began ranting and whining and went to bed and left her husband. Mr. Ampadu wondered and thought wide too. He became extremely amazed and then later went to bed.
SCENE 3 - PRINCE AND HIS GIRLFRIEND (ONE AFTERNOON)
Prince had brought his girlfriend into his father's home. After they had come out from Prince's room, they saw Mrs. Regina. Prince's girlfriend greeted her and she warmly welcomed her with all the smiling looks. Prince told his mum he was going to see her off. Mrs. Regina then asked the lady to take care then and go home peacefully. She responded ok. Meanwhile their maid was at one corner from the kitchen surprisingly watching all that were going on. She shook her head and said, "oh this is bad Maa Regina." Mrs. Regina shouted and called on her to come over. She asked her whether she was through with the chores and she said almost. She retorted at her and asked her to go and hurry because time was not on their side. Afia then ran again quickly to the kitchen.
SCENE 4 - PRINCE LOCKED BEHIND (ONE NIGHT)
During one night, around 10:00pm, Prince had not come home yet. So Mr. Ampadu went to the security man and seriously warned him whenever a someone bangs the gate he shouldn't open it for the person, not even Prince. Now, after a short moment, Prince came back home banging on the gate. He bang on it severely but the gate man told him his dad had warned him not to open it. He then called his mum on the phone. They were all asleep. She woke up and went to the gate man and asked him to open the gate. Afterwards, she sternly asked him why he did not open the gate and he told him her husband seriuosly warned that he shouldn't open it whenever he knocks in the night. She tried beating him up and told him how he expects his son to sleep. She asked him whether he expected to see him sleep on the streets. The gateman became quiet. Meanwhile Mr. Ampadu came around looking at them. He shook his head and entered the living room. Mr. Ampadu sat down and waited for them. They came in and Prince angrily went straight to his room. Mrs. Regina asked her husband why he did that. She asked him whether he expected that his son slept on the street with this cold whether. She became very furious and told her husband he was very wicked. She then went to the bedroom. Mr. Ampadu shook his head again and stood up and went inside their bedroom.
SCENE 5 - PRINCE GOT ARRESTED (ONE DAY)
One day, Mr Ampadu was in his living room reading the newspapers whiles his wife was hapily watching the television. He had a call from the central Police station that his son, Prince Ampadu had been arrested for killing his girlfriend. He got her pregnant and so whiles trying to abort it, he gave her a venomous and toxic substance to take in order to get the pregnancy aborted. The lady unfortunately died. So he was arrested for murder. His mum heard it and began to cry. She really cried. She then pleaded on her husband to do something about it and release her only son. The husband kept quiet and continuosly gazed at her. He squeezed his face too. Mrs. Regina insistently apologised for not being a good mother. She really felt remorseful for her reactions and attitude towards her son's anomalous behaviour. Afia was also on one corner sadly shaking her head. She squeezed her face too and wondered. Mr. Ampadu remained silent whiles Mrs. Regina kept crying.
