WHAT MUST I DO WHEN I AM FAILING IN LIFE?
THE WAY TO TRUE SUCCESS
Everybody wants to win. Winners are successful people. They have fame, popularity, wealth, clout, property, estates, and what have you. Winners are given trophies. Winners in contests are given trophies of gold, silver, and of bronze. To win gold calls for a lot of work.. It calls for intensive preparation. In the book of Revelation, God assures us of a golden crown if we win; that is if we succeed.
In Revelation 2:10, God assures all winners that will be given a crown of gold. In Joshua 1:8, God defines success. To us success is to make it in life; to be great; to be rich; to be popular; to have clout; to have abundant riches. That is how we see a successful person.
But H. G. Wells says, “Success is to be measured not by wealth, power, or fame, but by the ratio between what a man is and what he might be.” Your now is not true success, but your tomorrow will determine your true success. The beginning is not as important to success as your future ending. Some begin well but end badly.
What you are now is not true measure of success. What you shall be is true success. Do not define success or failure by your present situation, but by what you will be in the future. What you see as failure may rather be the way to true success.
What you see now as true success may rather be the way to failure. Riches have wings to fly; fame is like v***r that disappears with time; popularity is an accident, but true success is doing the will of God.
In the eyes of the populace, Mary Magdalene was a failure, but three years later, she became a very successful woman who was privileged to be the first to see the resurrected Christ.
“The final test of our lives will not be how MUCH we have lived but HOW we have lived, not how tempestuous our lives have been, but how much bigger, better and stronger these trials have left us. Not how much money, fame or fortune we have laid up here on earth, but how many treasures we have laid up in heaven,” says Megiddo Message.
Our definition of success is different from God’s definition. Charles Mayes said: “Make sure the thing you are living for, is worth dying for.”
The great use of life is to spend it for something that outlasts it.”
Phillips Brooks defines success as “To find your place in life and fill it is SUCCESS.” What is the meaning of your life? How many go to bed thanking God for your kind deeds?
“The purpose of life is not to be happy, but to MATTER, to be productive, to be useful, to have it make some difference that you lived at all,” Leo Rosten suggests.
Albert Einstein, the greatest scientist once said after making history in Physics, “Try not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man of VALUE.”
Jeremiah complained about those wicked people who seemed to be succeeding. See Jeremiah 12:1. What you see now as success might be a failure in the sight of God. See Psalm 73:2-8, 12, 17, 19.
One scholar has said:
“Success is in the way you walk the paths of life each day; it is in the little things you do, and in the things you say. Success is not in getting rich, or rising high to fame. It is not alone in winning goals, which all men hope to claim. Success is being big of heart, and clean and broad in mind; it is being faithful to your friends, and to be kind to the stranger. It is in the children whom you love, and all they learn from you. Success depends on the character and everything you do.”
Success is character. How many successful people have bad character? How many lie in the name of riches? How many successful people cheat on their families because they think they are successful and care about their promiscuity?
How many successful people are mean and disrespectful to the poor because of their riches? How many successful people are rude, stingy, arrogant, ungodly, and unfaithful? This is a failure in the sight of God.
Norman Vincent Peale said: “By success, I do not mean that you may be rich, famous, or powerful. I mean the development of mature and constructive personality.” To have grown wise and kind is a real success.
In heaven’s eye, there is no failure. There was a boy who was born with a curse hanging over him. His mother gave him a name that depicted that he was never going to be successful. As he grew, he decided to change his fortune and be successful. Listen to how he went about it: 1 Chronicles 4:9, 10. Read on to find out “THE STEPS TO TRUE SUCCESS.”
God bless you as you read.
