Kartong Health and Safety Committee in partnership with Togetherness Youths Association, Environmental Champion Association (ECA) Kartong Red cross Home link, Village Development Committee(VDC) and individual within Kartong yesterday Sunday 28th August, 2022 embarked on a day cleansing exercise at the village main clinic to clear and clean the clinic environment.

News reaching us about the demised of one of Gambia's finest kora player TataDinding Jobarteh. The news happened yesterday Saturday 21st August 2021 in the hours of evening.
It could be recalled he has immensely contributed to the restructuring of Kartong health clinic. This was last year November 2020 when the health and safety committee first set their fundraising show with him and his Salam Band Family.
Due to the successful of last year's show, another fundraising show was set to be organized with him and his Salam Band slated for Friday 25 June 2021. But the show was cancelled till further notice, due to the heavy raining in those days.
On behalf of Health and Safety Committee executives. We sending our condolences to his family, Salam Band management, friends and love ones. We pray Allah grant him into the highest place of Jannatul Firdawas and to all those gone before him. Ameen
Some of our executives members will be there to attend the buriel at 2pm.

A HANDING OVER CEREMONY OF FUNDRAISING(Salibo) COLLECTION FROM TOGETHERNESS YOUTHS ASSOCIATION TO KARTONG HEALTH AND SAFETY COMMITTEE.
Today Friday 23rd July 2021 mark the handing over of cash and cheque collection for the Salibo fundraising that, Togetherness Youths Association did for Kartong Health and Safety Committee for the ongoing work at the village clinic.
It could be recalled that, an embarking fundraising (Salibo) collection was made for the last two days (Wed/21/July and Thur/22/July 2021) respectively. A total collection amounting to Thirty Thousand, Four Hundred and Sixty-Seven 00/100GMD (D30, 467.00) which includes a cheque.
The handing over was made at Alkali Demba Jabang's compound. Which was witnessed by some village elders, representatives from both Health and Safety Committee and Togetherness Youths Association among others.
PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
Kartong Health and Safety Committee in collaboration with Togetherness Youths Association today Wednesday 21st July 2021 embarked on a Tobaski fundraising (Salibo) for the ongoing work at the village clinic. Today's collection was made from the Alkalo's compound to the end of Satabakono.
The same team will continue their embargo tomorrow Thursday 22nd July 2021 from Badou's shop to the end of Sanchaba from 9am upwards.

Kartong Health and Safety Committee early today Saturday 17th July 2021 received a cash amounting to 17,000.00 GMD (Seventeen Thousand Dalasis) from Mr Mark Nelson who is a Kartong in-law.
Mr Mark Nelson is the husband of Mbassey Jaiteh (Sanyangho), the daughter of Bajung Jaiteh and Fatou Nding Sambou.
Health and Safety received the money from Mr Mark Nelson through his wife Mbassey and inlaw Bajung Jaiteh respectively. Representing Health and Safety was Omar Tangal Jaiteh, Bai Matarr Sanyang and Mustapha Manneh.
Giving a vote of thanks on behalf of Health and Safety. Omar Jaiteh who thanks the donor Mr Mark Nelson and assure the money will be used in rightly purposes. He said the donation came at the time it was needed .He went further to call on other donors to come to their help as still work is still progressing at the clinic...
PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT
Kartong Health and Safety Committee in collaboration with Dr Naffie Ceesay along with her team will be having their usual medical mission.
They will be in Kartong this Thursday 17th June, 2021 within the hour of 9am to 3pm.
All kind of medical conditions and much especially people with medical conditions such as Diabetes and Hypertension.

Kartong Health and Safety Committee in collaboration with Sisters awareness group and Exceptional Nurses and Health stars, today organized a sensitization campaign on the Corona Virus.
The event started with a courtesy call on the Alkalo of kartong village, who expressed delight and welcome the initiative.
Speaking on behalf of the executive, the SG of Health and Safey, Bakary Kanteh Kujabi, deliberated on the importance of sensitization as it is a global pandemic. He thanked the two groups for answering to their call, despite the short notice. Kanteh Concluded by thanking the Alkalo for receiving them and other speakers, Kanjura Manneh on behalf of VDC, Ousman Demba (wuula), on behalf of the two groups express similar remarks.
Sensitization
After the courtesy call, the team started the sensitization at the village central market where public awareness and drama was showcased to enlightened the women folks about corona virus.
Immediately after the drama, the groups demonstrated on how to effectively wash hands with Soap and the proper use of the buckets supplied. KHSC together with the women vendors identified individuals who will be responsible for the surveillance and upkeep of the bins and that follow by handing over of two gallons of Dettols liquid and Madar bleach respectively.
The team proceeded to Halahin riverside, and upon arrival, were received by the youths at the riverside and a similar demonstration was made on how to clean ones hand. Speaking at the meeting, doudou saidy, expressed his gratitude to the delegation and assure them of the proper management of the supplies, Kejang Bojang and Mbye Touray, both expressed their appreciation of the gift and thank the team for the timely intervention. Also, speaking the river side , Mr Jatta, Army medic station emphasized the importance of personal hygiene and He informed the gathering that, he and his team of Red Cross volunteers are doing all they can to ensure anyone entering in the village via the river wash their hands.
The delegation ended their sensitization campaign at Katack tender military check point and after a formal introduction, a demonstration was made on hand cleaning and the military applauded and thanked the team for the supplies.
