After two great showcases at Miss Universe and World, the beauty ambassador was requested to be her nation’s representative to the Miss International 2014 pageant in Tokyo, Japan. Ruqayyah in her last known international contest underwent intensive pageant training and image consultancy by the Gouldian team in Manilla, Phillipines one of the world’s most thriving beauty pageants nation and also other associated pageant experts from Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Brazil and the United States of America
A Flight Attendant school graduate and student, She currently works alongside the Miss World Guyana network, Interviewed numerous pageant personalities that include beauty queens, directors and fans, She has also judged several pageants locally and internationally and is currently working on a book on Beauty Pageants. Besides pageants, her other passions include the performing arts, hosting television shows and events/ Broadcasting, promoting a clean environment and campaigning against domestic violence and bullyism through her Hope Phoenix Foundation and other NGO’s such as CADVA ( Caribbean American Domestic Violence Association).
