Meet Joanna, our new instructor who will join the Pilates by Hajni studio next week! ✨

Joanna’s movement journey began with pole dance back in 2015. What started as a fun hobby soon became a regular part of her life. During the pandemic, she discovered stretching and quickly realized how much better it made her feel after long hours of desk work. Before long, she decided to leave the 9–5 world behind and became a stretching instructor herself.

Later, Joanna gave pilates another chance — this time learning from excellent teachers in small-group classes. That experience completely changed her perspective, as she discovered how powerful pilates can be as cross-training for stretching, both physically and mentally. Inspired by this connection, she went on to complete a STOTT Reformer Instructor course.

We’re very excited to welcome Joanna (.voyy ) to Pilates By Hajni! She will be joining the studio next week, teaching every Friday, and soon Saturday morning classes as well. 🫶🏻

Pilates has changed my life in ways I never expected. 🤍

Not only has my body completely transformed — my figure looks more toned, my muscle mass has improved, and I feel stronger in a way that’s both powerful and feminine — but my flexibility has reached a level I never thought I’d achieve.

The biggest blessing? My back pain is gone.
Something I used to struggle with is now completely out of my daily life.

And if that wasn’t enough… Pilates also helped me recover from my broken elbow.
It gave me back my strength, mobility, and confidence in my body again.

Another surprising change: I honestly can’t even gain weight right now because my body feels so balanced and active — my metabolism, posture, and overall strength have improved so much.

Pilates didn’t just change how I look… it changed how I feel in my body. Stronger. Healthier. More confident. More aligned.

It may feel as if the whole world is doing Pilates today, but when Joseph Pilates opened his fitness studio in 1920’s New York (in the same building as the New York City Ballet), his teachings were known only to a rarefied few, most of them ballerinas.

It is testament to both Joseph Pilates’ energy, and to the efficacy of his methods themselves, that Pilates is now practised by millions in countries across the globe.

Throwback to Switzerland when I was working at 's studio in Zurich's second district! I loved working at this studio - I held group mat and reformer and private classes. I have learned a lot from Jael, who's an excellent teacher with decades of experience teaching Pilates on all apparatuses. I miss this time a bit, but happy to had this experience teaching Pilates abroad, in one of the most prestigious studios in Zurich. I'll be happy to come back and join your class in a bit, Jael! 💕

Practising what he preached, Joseph Pilates exercised almost right up until his death at 83 (his perfect posture no match for a 15-a-day cigar habit!).

When doing any exercise, one of the most important factors is your breathing. Joseph pilates is trying to exaggerate how important breathing is. If you are able to control your breathing correctly you are able to exercise in the right way.
