📢 Traffic Alert & Cultural Events in Bali!
🚨 Melasti Ceremony – Wednesday, 26 March at 3 PM
The Melasti Ceremony will take place tomorrow, starting from Legian Main Road to Melasti Beach. Expect road closures as Balinese Hindus perform this sacred purification ritual before Nyepi (the Balinese New Year).
🌊 What is Melasti?
Melasti is a cleansing ceremony where sacred temple objects are brought to the sea to wash away negative energies and restore balance before entering the new year.
🔥 Pengrupukan – Friday, 28 March
The night before Nyepi, Balinese celebrate Pengrupukan with the Ogoh-Ogoh parade, where giant demonic effigies are carried through the streets to ward off evil spirits.
🕊️ Nyepi – Saturday, 29 March
Nyepi is the Balinese Day of Silence, marked by Catur Brata Penyepian, which includes:
🔸 No fire/light (Amati Geni)
🔸 No working (Amati Karya)
🔸 No traveling (Amati Lelungan)
🔸 No entertainment (Amati Lelanguan)
On Nyepi, Bali completely shuts down—no flights, no traffic, and even the beaches are empty. It's a day of meditation and self-reflection.
✨ Don’t Miss the Ogoh-Ogoh Festival! ✨
Join the Ogoh-Ogoh parade on Legian Main Road on 28 March for a spectacular display of Balinese culture, music, and art!

Wondering where to go during this NYE?
Well it's starting to rain again🥹
27/12/2024
Let's hope it will always be this sunny, and finger-cross that NYE will be this sunny as well
It's not always sunshine and blue sky in Bali
We are currently into the wet and rainy season, tell me what would you do during this kind of weather?

Housekeeping Supervisor Nyoman Bobby and Gardener Pak Sueta just teamed up to erect our majestic penjor for Galungan and Kuningan! 🌾💪 Looks like the penjor is standing tall and proud, unlike Pak Sueta’s hat, which keeps falling off! 😅
Penjor is a tall, curved bamboo pole beautifully decorated with offerings, symbolizing prosperity and gratitude to the gods. It’s an iconic part of Bali’s Galungan and Kuningan celebrations, waving gracefully in the wind. Think of it as Bali’s spiritual version of a skyscraper—tall, elegant, and slightly extra!
Galungan is a sacred Balinese holiday celebrating the victory of dharma (good) over dharma (evil). Kuningan, which follows 10 days later, marks the farewell of ancestral spirits returning to the heavens. It’s a festive period of food, prayers, and more offerings than you can count—because let’s be honest, who doesn’t like keeping the gods happy, especially when it means extra holidays? 😉
