Today marks 9 years since my dad passed, and somehow, no matter how much time passes, certain moments still feel like yesterday.

Over time, I’ve realized something beautiful: the people who truly love us don’t just leave behind memories… they leave behind lessons that continue guiding us long after they’re gone.

My dad used to tell me not to settle.Not to shrink myself for others.Not to stay connected to things that drained me or made me forget my worth.

At the time, I didn’t fully understand those words.Now they live in me every day.

And maybe that’s today’s reminder:

The love poured into you still matters.The prayers spoken over you still matter.The guidance, wisdom, and protection from the people before us still shape who we are becoming.

Sometimes strength is born from loss.Sometimes healing begins when we finally believe we deserve better.

So today, we honor the ones before us.The parents, ancestors, loved ones, and guiding souls whose love still lives through us every single day.
