CHARLES HUSSEY, Irish Barber Icon passed away peacefully last night. He will be missed by all those involved over the years in Team Ireland Barbering for World Championships as Manager and Trainer. The Hairdressing Council send deep regret. Arrangements will follow as soon as the family is ready. Check back here.

(HETF ) The Organisation for all Educators and Teachers Fellowship, Annual Conference/Symposium will happen this Sunday in ATHLONE, @ the Radisson Hotel.
Membership is currently OPEN to new members. If you would like to attend from 9.45 - 3.30approx. Please contact their official page. The event will start with the renowned Paul Davey of Hairdressing Live and Elements Education, other speakers are Alastair McDermott on (AI ) Artificial Intelligence and how it can be used in the classroom/ ChatGTP followed by Q&A session. and Website essentials for educators. Michelle Nugent will speak on RPL her journey from student to educator for RPL, The Hairdressing Council President, Debbie O Keeffe will speak on the Council and new initiative, Maeve O'Healy Harte will speak on the 100th edition of Irish Hairdresser Magazine, the Kemon Mirror Mirror Awards and the Maura Clarke Training Award , the upcoming Salon Sessions Event and she is also looking for Sustainability advocates for the industry. (Video of that) Lastly but very importantly is an open discussion on the future of HETF led by Niall Murphy and committee. It will be a good day.
