A massive congratulations to who took home the **coveted First Place Trophy in the Upstyling Category** at the **All Ireland Hairdressing College Championships 2026** ๐โจ
Lorna is an incredibly **dedicated, talented and passionate** learner, and this achievement is a true reflection of the hard work and determination she consistently brings to everything she does. Her creativity, attention to detail, and professionalism shone through on the day and she should be immensely proud of herself.
Lorna is currently working in having completed the **Work Experience module** of her traineeship there under the watchful eye of **Martha Galvin**, 3-time **IHF Hairdresser of the Year** an incredible opportunity and a fantastic learning environment that has helped Lorna develop and grow into the stylist she is becoming.
Well done Lorna, you are an inspiration to others and you are truly **destined for greatness**. ๐๐โโ๏ธ๐
I am so incredibly proud of the outstanding work produced by the Hairdressing learners here in Mayo College of FET (Ballina Campus) as part of their entries for the All Ireland Hairdressing College Championships 2026.
We were brilliantly represented across all three categories: Blowdry, Upstyle, and Avant Garde, and each learner put an amazing amount of effort, dedication, and passion into their work. The preparation involved weeks of practice, creativity, perseverance, and determination, and it truly showed on the day.
The standard of work at this yearโs championships was absolutely fantastic, with learners from across the country showcasing incredible talent. It was inspiring to see such a high level of skill and artistry, and to be part of an event that celebrates the future of our industry.
Competitions like this are such a valuable opportunity for learners, not only to demonstrate their abilities in blowdrying and upstyling techniques, but also to explore and express their creative flair, particularly in categories like Avant Garde where imagination and individuality really shine.
A massive congratulations goes to our learner
Lorna Bergin, who only graduated last month and achieved an amazing result by taking home the First Place Cup in Upstyle, an incredible achievement and so well deserved!
But I also want to acknowledge every single learner who stepped onto the competition floor and those that helped behind the scenes to help bring the ideas to life. Putting yourself forward in a competitive environment takes real courage. Not everyone can take home a trophy on the day, but every one of you proved something far more important, that you are hard-working, dedicated, creative, and passionate about your craft.
Well done to all involved, you should be so proud of yourselves. I certainly am! ๐โจ๐โโ๏ธ
