โœจ Nail Fold Cleansing โœจ

Clean nail folds are an important part of healthy nails ๐Ÿค

When dead skin and debris build up around the nail edges, they can create pressure and cause discomfort or tenderness.

Gentle and regular nail fold cleansing helps reduce this pressure, keeps the area clean, and supports healthy nail growth. It also lowers the risk of irritation or infection.

This step makes further treatments, such as nail packing or corrective bracing, easier and more effective.

CORN PLASTERS โ€“ why they are NOT a good idea โŒ

Many people use corn plasters because they are easy to buy and promise quick relief.
But in reality, they often cause more problems than help.

Hereโ€™s why I donโ€™t recommend them ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿ”ธ They donโ€™t remove the core
Corn plasters only soften the hard skin.
The corn usually comes back, because the real cause is still there (for example tight shoes or pressure).

๐Ÿ”ธ Risk of chemical burns
Most corn plasters contain salicylic acid.
This acid does not work only on the corn โ€“ it can damage healthy skin around and cause burns or skin breakdown.

๐Ÿ”ธ Not safe for people with diabetes
Reduced sensation and circulation increase the risk of wounds, infections and slow healing.

๐Ÿ”ธ Skin irritation and allergies
Burning, redness, pain or contact dermatitis are very common side effects.

๐Ÿ”ธ They make professional treatment harder
Macerated or inflamed skin is much more difficult to treat safely in the clinic.

โœจ The best solution?
Professional assessment, safe removal and advice on footwear and pressure relief โ€“ not DIY acids.

If youโ€™re unsure what kind of lesion you have, itโ€™s always better to ask than to risk your skin ๐Ÿค

What you see in the photo is a corn โ€” a problem that is often ignored at the beginning.

At first, it may feel like a light sting or pressure when walking.
This is usually the moment when people start to notice something isnโ€™t quite right.

When a corn is left untreated, it rarely disappears on its own.
Over time, the pressure increases and the area can become painful, inflamed, and sensitive to touch. In some cases, walking itself becomes uncomfortable.

Itโ€™s important to understand that treating a corn does not mean it will never return.
Unless the cause of the pressure is identified and reduced, the skin will continue to protect itself in the same way.

Professional treatment focuses on relieving discomfort, reducing pressure, and slowing down the process of recurrence โ€” not just on removing what is visible on the surface.

Corns like this often form in areas exposed to constant pressure or friction, especially around joints.

If you start to feel stinging or pressure โ€” donโ€™t wait until it turns into pain ๐Ÿ‘ฃ

Dark nail after an injury ๐Ÿ‘ฃ

This is a subungual haematoma โ€“ blood trapped under the nail after a mechanical injury.
It often looks worrying, but it is not always a fungal infection.

In most cases, the dark area will slowly grow out with the nail.
Correct assessment is always the first step before any treatment.

๐Ÿค Healthy feet start with the right diagnosis.

Green discoloration on the nail โ€“ not always fungus ๐Ÿ‘ฃ

This type of colour is very often linked to bacterial growth (for example Pseudomonas),
usually caused by moisture, occlusion and lack of air.

In this case the nail was carefully cleaned,
home treatment was advised,
and now we are waiting for healthy nail regrowth.

๐Ÿ’ก Early care makes a big difference.
If you notice colour changes on your nails, donโ€™t ignore them.

Why I Donโ€™t Choose Orthotic Insoles for Clients by Myself

As a foot specialist, I can treat symptoms on your feet โ€” for example corns, calluses, cracked heels, thick nails or pain under the toes.
However, I cannot decide on my own if someone needs orthotic insoles.

Hereโ€™s why:

๐Ÿ”น The feet are only one part of the whole body
๐Ÿ”น Very often the real cause starts in the knees, hips, pelvis or even the spine/neck
๐Ÿ”น Correct insoles require full-body biomechanical assessment
๐Ÿ”น Wrong insoles can make the pain worse or create new problems

For this reason, I always recommend that insoles should be prescribed by a biomechanics specialist or a physiotherapist trained in full-body gait analysis.

โœจ My job is to:
โœ”๏ธ treat the problem you have today
โœ”๏ธ explain what may be causing it
โœ”๏ธ refer you to the right expert if orthotics might help

This teamwork gives safer and better long-term results.

Healthy feet need the whole body ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ’š
