Wheel Pose (Urdhva Dhanurasana)
Practicing this pose feels so good to release your back. Great if you are sitting or driving a lot in your day. This shape is the opposite of the usual ‘C’ shape our bodies are in for most of the day at work or watching tv on the couch at night.
Benefits are:
•opens chest, shoulders, hips
•arms , shoulders strength
•stretch abs and quads (muscles at front of thigh)
•release back muscles

Practicing yoga draws you into your body and mind. Feeling your muscles, breath and heartbeat. Slowly and with control moving from one pose to the next. Outside noise distances and you are completely at peace 🙏🧘♀️💕

Great for upper body and core strength, also these are balance poses which helps to keep the mind in focus. I love practicing yoga, for the mental as well as physical benefits 🙏

‘Quick’ morning routine! ….joking obviously, I can never do anything quickly! But I need only 10 or 15 minutes in the morning to do some stretching, not a full workout, just some gentle wake up movements, cup of coffee next to me on the floor, I’ll have the radio on, a nice way to greet the day and centre myself and my thoughts before I teach my class ☕️🌸🌞🙏Yoga practice , the breath, connects your body to your spirit. If you are prone to anxiety or feeling low, Yoga can have a profound effect on your life 🙏

Focusing on the process rather than the ‘perfect’ is something I need to remind myself of in my daily yoga practice, in my artwork and in my life. The Gift of Yoga 🧘♀️🙏
Yoga poses are technical, as you move from one asana into the next, you are thinking about spine and hips alignment, correct positioning of shoulders, elbows, knees, ankles, feet, checking in with each part of your body understanding how the pose feels and if you can go into it a little deeper or hold it for a little longer. Feeling the strength and stretch , breathing deeply , engaging certain muscles. Some poses stimulate the central nervous system and inversion poses increase blood flow to the brain which have calming effects. By practicing yoga you attain physical benefits: strength, flexibility, balance, muscle tone, improved digestion. And mental benefits: calm peaceful mind by practicing deep breathing and meditation.
Side Angle Pose with binding arms ✨🙏
Side angle pose is deceptively powerful 🙏❤️ the position of the legs is great for building leg strength and flexibility of hips and strength in core muscles to support the spine. Binding arms adds an extra layer of intensity to the pose, it makes you open shoulders back so you don’t lean forward , to maintain correct alignment of the spine always. Wrapping arms around the body also helps you to sink deeper in the pelvis , feeling the stretch more in the thighs and to breath deeper into your chest. Hold for a few breaths. 🙏🧘♀️
Trikonasana (Triangle pose)
I feel this pose in my legs and thighs , great pose for strength and opening hips. Stretching , reaching with the arms helps to lengthen the spine and stimulate the nervous system, great benefits for mood, toning your legs and core muscles as well as improving digestion.
