OLD PMU & TOO MANY TOP-UPS — MORE PIGMENT DOESN’T MEAN DARKER 🤎

One of the biggest misconceptions about PMU is that if your brows have faded, we can simply add more pigment to make them darker again.

It doesn’t always work that way.

If you have old PMU from another artist, or you’ve had multiple top-ups over the years, there may already be a significant amount of residual pigment in the skin.

When the skin is heavily saturated, adding more pigment may not heal darker. Instead, the new pigment can heal unpredictably, look patchy, cool/ashy or make the brows increasingly solid and unnatural.

Think of it like repeatedly colouring over an already full canvas — at some point, adding more isn’t improving the picture.

This is why we assess previous PMU before working over it.

🤎 Sometimes we CAN refresh it.
🤎 Sometimes it simply needs more time to fade.
🤎 Sometimes removal/lightening is needed first.
🤎 And sometimes you genuinely don’t need another top-up yet.
