Fundraiser Gaza

I have never felt more connected to this planet, to the world, to the people in it and our shared humanity.

This morning I listened to an eighty year old man who has given his life to fighting for fairness and equality and who still believes that despite everything there is hope. Who believes that it needs all the little people in the world to enact change. His name is Bernie Sanders.

This lunch time I returned to my regular Saturday routine of walking through the streets with a group of people shouting for a ceasefire.

Mine is a very small community, a small rural town. Everyone knows my name. I am at home.

We have a family from Palestine settled here for many years but with family still in Gaza suffering.

I stood next to a Jewish-German friend and helped her put up her banner. Jews for Palestine.

A tiny little Palestinian boy whose Saturday routine is set holds the microphone and calls out the chants he now knows by heart with us all responding. And then on loop he calls out..stop killing children now.

The world depends on every single one of us to stand up.

Please if you sit on the fence, if you trust someone else will speak for you... don't.

Get up.

Stand up.

NOW is the time.
