5.5 hours of prepping, mixing, foiling, back combing, painting, more mixing, standing 😵‍💫🫤, prepping for toners, thinking 🤔 ..of being a color chemist and what you can mix and what you can’t mix , standing over a basin, back breaking feels 🫤, teasing out the back combing and not wanting to hurt your client 😬🫥 sorry guys … try my best to be gentle 🫶🏼 , some cleaning (of the hair not the floor) washing, toning, and masks after all that bleaching 🤩, a little trim to sort the ends and a smooth gorgeous blow out to finish 🤌🏼

Using your own root color for a balayage is what I would suggest to all my clients as it’s the color your were born with so it’s going to suit you no matter what and secondly it’s the best for regrowth … I would love to hear you don’t want to come back for 6 months or even 8 if you could!, for it is meant to be low maintenance !!
A face framing top up in between w/ toning and a treatment would be an option in between if you felt like a pick me up ☺️

Start ~ nearly done ~ second toning ✨
I did a Qiqi treatment and a blonding session in the one day, what this entails for a qiqi treatment on the same day as a colour appointment is that you do your bleaching service first and you do your colour service after.

Qiqi tones as it’s penetrating through the hair shaft so I didn’t want to over tone and end up too cool (ashy) so I waited until the end of both services to see where the colour stood !

I felt it was still warm in places and didn’t blend as well as it could in tone, so i did a second tone that was a little cooler and deeper in depth which you can see in the final image where i find it blends better.

Colour work is all about visually seeing where it is taking you. Sometimes one toner isn’t going to do enough of the work and sometimes hair also doesn’t do or go to the tone or depth first time where we want it to go.
Also we need a lot of time when it comes to making colours ☺️ … if a toner is only on for 5 minutes… it’s not going to last two washes at home ! 🫶🏼

My goal for this … softer regrowth and lengthening your time between appointments !
