Washing your hair at home
Sounds easy, right?
Well for some people washing their hair can become a tedious task that we rush through, so I’m going to tell you 6 simple steps to leaving your hair squeaky clean and ready for the perfect blow dry.

1. Less is more. Try not to wash your hair every day as you will be washing away all the good natural oils that our scalps produce and your scalp will be working hard to replace these oils, which can lead to an overproduction (greasy scalp & hair).

2. Saturate your hair and scalp with Luke warm water. If your hair is not completely wet you won’t achieve a good lather from your shampoo.

3. Apply shampoo about the size of a €2coin(medium - long hair). Using gentle pressure massage the scalp and roots of hair for 2minutes and work it through the ends.

4. Rinse and repeat using a smaller amount of shampoo this time. Why repeat? The first wash removes all the dirt(pollution, product build up and dry shampoo) so you need to wash it again for any of the nourishing properties of the shampoo to get in.

5. Rinse and Condition, apply conditioner and you can leave it in your hair for a few minutes avoiding roots if you get oily roots. Personally I always keep a brush in my shower and at this stage I like to detangle my hair. Rinse thoroughly. Any residue of the conditioner that is left in your hair can leave it feeling lank and lifeless.

6. Towel dry your hair and follow up with protectant, serum, curl cream or blow dry prep product.

Important to remember
One size does not fit all. Choose a shampoo and conditioner that suits your hair type.
