And here is why: Waxing removes hair from the roots, which leaves your pores open for several hours.
Sweating shortly after waxing can lead to folliculitis - a mild infection of the hair follicles that shows up as red, itchy bumps. Gyms and workout mats also carry bacteria that can get into freshly waxed skin.
Exercise raises your body temperature. Heat + fresh waxing = more redness, swelling, and discomfort.

The skin needs TIME TO CALM DOWN.

And how long should you wait for? I personally recommend to wait 24h minimum (48h for sensitive skin).

Following the right after care helps to keep your skin health and smooth, also prevents Ingrown hairs.
