Yesterday I delivered a cultural braiding workshop for LinkedIn’s Black Inclusion Group as part of InDay in Dublin.

We explored the history, significance and craft behind braiding, then moved into a hands-on session where the team tried the technique for themselves.

The diversity in the room made it something else. Real conversation, curiosity, people connecting over something most of them had never done before.

Part of my mission is making braiding education more visible and valued in spaces where it has rarely been taken seriously. Yesterday was one of those rooms.

A gallery of braids, live demos, and conversations I’m still thinking about.

This year I brought more than a stand to the Professional Beauty & Hair Show Ireland, I brought a gallery of real client work to show what can be created through technique, and what can be possible even through a one-day intensive braiding class.

What struck me most was how often the gallery made people stop. It opened conversations, drew people into the live demos, and turned the stand into a space where people stayed, connected, and even sat down to get braided.

I braided multiple people across the two days, including my client Sade, , who reached out before the show to book and came through for her braids at the event, which made the whole experience feel even more special.

One of my favourite moments was meeting Gael from and chatting about her next look, one of many conversations that reminded me how much these spaces are about connection as much as craft.

Showcasing work created through training made me even more excited for what’s ahead with Fab Braiders Academy. More private and group in-person braiding classes are coming soon, and I’ll be sharing the training reel behind some of this showcased work next week.
