Shima Mistry is a Global Hair/Makeup Artist & Body Painter based in Dublin, Ireland. Specialising in During 2014-2015 I worked with 'The Photo Studio' in Sydney.
Hi, i’m Shima and here’s a bit more about me…
I’m an accomplished Make up Artist, I trained at the Sydney based Napoleon Make up Academy 15 years ago. After moving from New Zealand where I was a dedicated Art student I pursued a career as a make up artist and sought to learn all there was to know in make up application. Having moved to Dublin, Ireland 10 years ago I worked as a freelance makeup a
rtist through-out Ireland, and a bit in London. Now being based back in Sydney, i’m excited to continue my love of make up in the city where it all began…
I was fortunate to work on many catwalk shows in Sydney, including Mercedes Fashion week and fashion shows at the amazing Sydney Opera House. I continued this work in Dublin including working on Irish Television series ‘Off the Rails’. I enjoying being a regular make up artist on photoshoots and really enjoy the buzz of the photoshoot set. I also worked as a makeup artist for the photographic studio ‘Secret Boudoir’ where I transformed clients on a daily basis using my make up and hair expertise. I had the pleasure of working with women from all walks of life and turned them into modern day bo***ir models worthy of gracing any wall. The studio offers an exclusive service where many travel from all over Ireland to experience. Also being fortunate enough to have trained intensively with a number of International make up artists in Sydney, London and Dublin including award winning London Artist Louise Constad. I continue to update my make up skills keeping me on trend in the world of make up, I believe you never stop learning in this craft. Along side being a freelance makeup artist I enjoyed passing on my passion for makeup as a Tutor in a number of Makeup Academy’s around Ireland. A guest Tutor at The International Makeup Academy, Avant Garde Makeup Academy and a resident Makeup Tutor at the Sharon Leavy College of Hair & Beauty teaching classes from Basic Makeup to Specialised Makeup. Priding myself on making sure my students developed the same passion by pushing them to be as creative as possible and making class fun to learn. My love of Art helped me enter into the world of Body Painting 7 years ago, since then i’ve assisted at the World Body Painting Competition in Seboden in Austria and ‘Won‘ the 2012 Irish Body Painting competition in Dublin. I’ve had many private and advertising clients, creating designs from painted Baby Bumps to advertising pieces for Danone, Miller Beer, Secret Boudior and many more clients. This is a very creative outlet and one that is endless in it’s possibilities. Here I worked with the most amazing Fashion/Editorial Photographers from around the world. A team of highly creative Photographers, Stylists and Hair & Makeup Artists. A definite highlight of my career. Finally in addition to this i’ve loved working with many brides across the globe and enjoyed making up brides in Ireland over the last 10 years for their special day. Having just relocated back to Dublin I’m looking forward to continuing my work across both Ireland and Sydney. My approach would be friendly and calm, allowing me to connect with my brides easily and helping them feel relaxed. I pride myself on being highly organised, which ensures my brides feel safe in the knowledge that they are in good hands from the make up trial to the wedding day. A bride can be guaranteed her make up will still be perfect in the early hours of the morning. Lastly my point of view on makeup, well I believe make up is far more than make up application, it’s a personal expression and a true art form, encompassing creative skill. I look forward to hopefully working with you soon. Shima x
