That’s right, a ‘Gel Polish Infill’ and here’s why: Imagine, we prep the entire natural nail ready for gel polish application. Then in 2-3 weeks time our client returns, we soak off and we re-prep the same area of natural nail that was once prepped before. If we continue to do this each time they return for a remove and re-apply, over time we can thin the natural nail. We can be as gentle as possible, but we know that each time we touch a file to the natural nail we are compromising it. So what do we do you may ask? We treat a gel polish remove and re-apply like an infill. Your client returns and you remove the colour layer and leave the base coat intact. By leaving the base coat intact it protects the area of natural nail that has previously been filed/prepped. Then when we re-prep the nail ready for fresh application we prep the base coat and the new growth of nail plate that has never been prepped before. Therefore the natural nail is only ever prepped ONCE!
