People often see the salon as it is today, but very few know how it all started.

For years, I worked in the beauty industry from home while studying and taking every course I could. I was that girl with big dreams and a vision for the future.

I dreamed of having my own salon.
A place where clients would feel welcomed and cared for.
A place where staff would be respected, appreciated, and genuinely enjoy coming to work.

But if I’m honest, I was terrified.

Could I really run a business?
What if I couldn’t pay the rent?
What if I couldn’t pay wages?
What if I failed?

The dream was there, but so was the fear.

Back in 2019, my husband and I imagined a very different future. We were hoping to grow our family and after IVF treatment, we were full of hope.

Then came a phone call that changed everything.

“Sorry Alina, not this time.”

My heart broke.

I spent days crying. I didn’t want to work. I didn’t want to leave the house. Everything felt heavy.

Then one evening my husband came home from work and said, “Get ready, we’re going for a drive.”

He brought me to an old forgotten unit behind Backhouse Pharmacy and simply said:

“Glitter Girls Beauty should be here.”

Looking back, that moment changed my life.

Within days, I had the keys.

Most people couldn’t see the vision. Some thought I was completely mad. A girl who had never worked in a salon environment opening her own salon?

Crazy, right? 😂

But we got to work.

Days turned into nights. There were vision boards, planning, decorating, interviews, excitement, stress, and many sleepless nights.

And then, on the 8th of June 2019, we opened our doors.

Our baby. ❤️

Yes, Glitter Girls Beauty was my first baby. 🌷

This salon became something so much bigger than a business. It became a place built with love, resilience, and a lot of faith.

Today, as we celebrate another birthday, I feel incredibly grateful.

To every client who trusted us.
To every team member who became part of the journey.
To everyone who supported us from day one.
