ELDERFLOWER CORDIAL 😍 made it for a very first time. Just took a little bit of courage, it’s actually quite simple to make it.

This Elderflower cordial is going to be used soon in my next soap project 😁

Elderflower cordial adds natural sugars, floral aromatics, and skin-conditioning properties to soap. Its high sugar content boosts lather and bubbles, while the natural emollients and vitamins in elderflower help to soften and soothe the skin.

Benefits of Elderflower Cordial in Soap

Enhanced Lather: The sugars and fruit acids (or citric acid) present in the cordial act as a natural sugar additive, which dramatically increases the bubbly, luxurious lather of the final bar of soap.

Skin Conditioning: Elderflowers are known in herbal traditions for their soothing, anti-inflammatory, and skin-brightening properties, which leave the skin feeling soft and conditioned.

Subtle Aromatics: While the strong lye reaction can burn off delicate flower scents, using cordial brings light, natural floral and citrus notes to my soap.

Finally, after 6 years was able to make soap with Daffodil essential oil. Found a supplier in Ukraine who sold it for a reasonable price. Thank you 😊

BIG DAISY VS SMALL DAISY

Why do we use small daisies in our products?

In skincare, the difference between “big” and “small” daisies typically refers to large ornamental varieties (like Shasta or Gerbera daisies) compared to Common/English daisies (Bellis perennis). While small Bellis perennis is heavily researched for skin brightening and anti-inflammatory benefits, large decorative varieties offer fewer clinically backed topical advantages.

Small Daisy (Bellis perennis)

Skin Brightening: Inhibits melanin production to fade dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and sun damage.

Soothing & Anti-inflammatory: Rich in polyphenols and flavonoids that calm sensitive, redness-prone skin.

Healing Properties: Traditionally known as a natural alternative to arnica for reducing swelling, bruising, and minor wounds.

Cell Regeneration: Contains malic and tartaric acids that gently exfoliate and support collagen synthesis.

Big Daisy (e.g., Shasta, Giant/Gerbera)

WILD DAISY -

In skincare, the extract of the common daisy is highly valued as a gentle, plant-based power ingredient. Packed with antioxidants, organic acids, and natural brighteners, it serves as an excellent botanical, non-toxic alternative.

Is highly effective at fading sunspots, age spots, and post-acne hyperpigmentation.

The extract is rich in natural exfoliating acids, these gently remove dead skin cells from the surface, unclog pores, and accelerate cellular turnover. This reveals smoother, fresher skin and helps clear up dullness or minor blemishes.

3. Calms Inflammation and Redness
It helps calm reactive skin, reduces redness from acne or sun exposure, and can soothe conditions like eczema.

WILD VIOLETS - the amazing little flowers, so small but so powerful! 💜

Made a beautiful purple soap infused with Violets & Daisies recently. Waiting for the Sun to come to my window so I can take a picture and show it to you.

So far I have been using Violets in my Mineral Bath Soaks, this is the first time I made a soap.

BENEFITS FOR THE SKIN

Wild violets (Viola species) provide incredible benefits for the skin, acting as a cooling, moistening agent that deeply hydrates dry tissue, clears acne via natural salicylic acid, and calms chronic irritation.

Unlike daisy extract which primarily focuses on hyperpigmentation, wild violets excel at restoring moisture and soothing red, hot, or inflamed skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.
