Mam,

When I first wake up,
Just for that minute.
All is fine then...
I realise you're not in it.

People go about, not a care in the world
Presents being bought, have they not heard.
That no longer a present for my Mam can I buy,
Nor Dad, as you both look down from the sky.

Tomorrow's my birthday, 8.40am you'd call,
To say that's the time, to earth I did fall.
No Happy birthmas from Dad, his wallet he'd open,
Announcing his present, never a token.

This year my heart breaks, no Happy Birthday we'll sing,
Because for my present, nobody can bring,
Bring back my 2 parents from Heaven above,
Please send me a sign, maybe a dove?

How does the world go on when we are feeling like this,
This heartache on others, we never would wish.
For others, We ask that this too shall pass,
That we all get through this lonely Christmas.

Mam,

Mam, if only you could see all this frost,
It's beauty doesn't make up for what we lost.
I know you loved it, but preferred the heat,
Stretched out in the garden, on your seat.

The daffodils are showing in your garden,
They must be frozen, the poor misfortunes.
Your Nerine lillies fighting to flower,
Pansys smiling, winter Cyclamen tower.

Mr Robin, he calls daily to say,
You're heading home, to Dad to stay.
He bobs about the garden with glee,
We send our love, to you both, through he.

We've kept you safe, you sit next to Dad,
The best seats in the house to be had.
The fire burns bright, ye can see the Christmas tree,
In the heart of the house, ye'll always be.

You'd tell us 'be careful, when we'd leave,
But now 2 Angels sit on our sleeve.
Watching over us in every way,
Blessing us each and every day.

When I first wake, for a second, all is well,
You're down home, I'll give you a bell.
But then, back to earth with a bump,
Then tears form, in my throat, a lump.

You'll miss.my birthday this weekend,
No birthday card, can you send.
All I want this year, is you both back with me,
That Christmas wish, just cannot be.

Then Dad would turn 80 in 2 weeks time,
You'll celebrate together in Heaven this time.
We'll release balloons & make a toast,
To you our parents, we've loved the most.

Christmas will be hard, our hardest yet,
Without you both, no gifts we'll get.
Could replace the love ye had to give,
Oh how we wish, ye both could have lived.

So we breath, we smile and we nod,
Agreeing with people, ye are with God.
To God we pray to keep ye safe,
Until we meet again at Heaven's gate.

Love & miss you both so much

Mam, you're Home!

Mam, We brought you home,
They stood to wait,
Our friends & neighbours,
At your gate.

To see you home, just one last time,
They stood there, waiting in a line.
We paused outside our home for you,
The place where your love We knew.

They stood beside your garden gate,
The garden you loved & stayed there late.
Tending and pruning to trees and shrubs,
And flowers planted in patio tubs.

No more it blooms, probably sad to see,
It's master pausing, minutes to be,
There passing this one last time,
No pansy, no schrub, no rose, no thyme.

So as you start on your final.journey home,
We pause to think of you here now,
No matter what we do this day,
Your garden will always be here to stay.

So trowel and shovel in your hands,
One final.garden needs your plans.
God's garden needs an overhaul,
Dad's waiting there, for you to call.

Dad is waiting, he has made some boxes,
He needs you to design and fill.
To make God's garden bloom & grow
He has the best 2 flowers we know.

He has taken the 2 best flowers we had,
They are, of course, our Mam and Dad.
No more They bloom, here only to rest,
They say God only takes the best.

Rest well Mam
Love you both Mam & Dad

As I lay here looking back at photos of Mam and her love for floral arrangements, it's hard to believe she is gone 2 months already.

As any of you know, who purchased one of her floral arrangements, Mam's work was unique.

She never used plastic flowers. She only bought the best quality and the most exquisite.

I will always treasure my wedding bouquet, which I still have. Crystal encrusted white roses, carnations and winter berries. We still have the buttone holes.

Rest well Mam
Love & miss you loads
