Home from holidays & all stocked up for a healthy week ahead & man do I need it ๐ณ holidays are normally a total chill time for us but with a family wedding in Malta it was far from the norm.. what a beautiful place Malta is & we'll definitely be going back... lots of celebration, sun & fun was had so getting back on track quickly is key for me... goin caffeine free from Today as I totally went OTT on it ๐& when prosecco is served at breakfast it would be rude not to enjoy an odd glass ๐ฎ๐ ๐ฅ plus wine goes down a lot quicker & easier in the sun ๐ค I always pack specific supplements when going on holiday to help support my health profile with a focus on supporting a B vitamin profile, antioxidants (supplements, foods & topical) as well as some digestive support... it's all about balance, moderation & listening to your body and then making the best nutritional/ supportive choices you can... it's never about perfection or rigid rules it's about listening to your body, understanding the best nutritional choices for you & setting yourself up to win whenever possible ... whole foods for whole health isn't a diet it's a choice & a way of life, when you focus on health everything changes โ๐ผ

Healthy eating doesn't just happen, you gotta set yourself up to win! Just a little bit of planning/organisation/intent is required to allow healthy habits to prevail... if your fridge is stocked with healthy foods, your plates goina match that also... what's key to overall success in any task we take on is clarity, focus & a little bit of organisation & intent!! Setting yourself up to win is key, which means a little bit of food prep for the week is key ๐ ๐ ๐ I don't to meal prep for many reasons with satiety & variety being just two reasons I complete food prep each week which provides me with so much variety, satiety & most importantly a healthy connection with my food!!! Meals cooked on a Sunday & eaten on a Friday has never been a healthy option I have implemented, once food is cooked & left sitting in the fridge for the week waiting to be eaten it's really loosing a lot of it vital life force energy (Qi) or (prana/vita) healing properties, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and so on... my food prep is a "set myself up to win process", I have my shopping in, washed & prepped as much as possible, smoothie components prepped & frozen, maybe a soup or casserole to get my week started, my healthy "sweet" treats made & so on but keeping it as fresh as possible each day! Food prep is king ๐

The perfect sweet potato wedge... well in my view!! So many people turn their noses up at sweet potato wedges cause they can come out too soggy!!! Well that's only because many people don't cook them the right way ๐ my tips for the best low fat/good fat roasted sweet pots are ๐๐ผ peel if not organic, ๐๐ผ get them as edgy as possible & not big chunky rectangles! ๐๐ผ heat your roasting tray in the oven first ๐๐ผ add the MCT oil & then the potato wedges ๐๐ผ mix well coating them oil ๐๐ผ check out my insta story to ๐ the most important tip ๐ to the perfect sweet potato wedge ๐๐คค๐ sweet pots are a key component to ma weekly food prep, for salads, soups, buddha bowls, dips, vegan "omelettes" (yep there is such a thing!) etc... they are a super veg full of many health properties such as antioxidant & are so tasty & satisfying if cooked correctly!!! Keeping it lean with this Indian spiced turkey mince, lettuce wraps topped with lemon & garlic cashew cream cheeze โ๐ผ ๐คค๐คค๐คค This was last nights dinner but I wanna eat it all over again ๐ it's a tasty & satisfying dish with turmeric, cumin, coriander, & garam masala spice ... this dish is anti inflammatory on sooooo many levels ๐๐ผ check out my previous post as to why an anti inflammatory diet is key to all aspects of health ๐ค

Healthy apple, berry & pineapple crumble ๐ ๐ ๐ for breakfast or dessert you decide ๐คค๐คค this is naturally gluten free & I've kept it dairy free also to go vegan & most importantly to keep it anti inflammatory... in functional medicine & naturopathic nutrition we view inflammation in the body as the root cause of all dis-ease, disease or performance distinction ... up to 95% of our genes are governed by our diet, how we handle stress, our natural environment & toxin exposure! So in light of these facts implementing a natural whole food anti inflammatory diet, which is refined sugar free, supporting healthy eating habits with reduced exposure to toxins, proactively managing stress as well as living in a healthy environment (mentally & physically) breeds a perfect environment for a whole health approach ๐ outline: for the healthy topping I have used MCT oil & nut butter rubbed into gluten free oats, mixed seeds & nuts, for the fruit I have used eating apples rather than cooking apples so no need for additional sugar, the pineapple removes the tartness of the berries & apple... I topped the fruit off with cinnamon & baked it for approx 20mins & it keeps well in the fridge for up to 5 days so you can enjoy it anytime throughout your week ๐๐ผ so happy Saturday, have a super weekend, spend it wisely, enjoy yo self ๐ค๐ค
