and started thinking:

“What does this nail actually need?”

Two clients can book the same service and still need a different product choice.

And that’s exactly why I don’t want a student to leave my training knowing only which product I used.

I want you to understand why I chose it.

So when the next client sits down with completely different nails, you’re not repeating what worked last time and hoping for the same result.

You can look at the nail, assess it and make your own decision.

That’s the difference between knowing the steps and understanding what you’re doing.

I think sometimes it’s easy to look at someone online and only see where they are now.

You don’t always see the restarts, the doubts, the years of figuring things out, or how many times they had to build themselves back up.

That’s probably why I care so much about the beginner stage.

The part that takes the longest to learn isn’t always the technique.

It’s trusting yourself enough to make a decision without immediately checking what someone else would do.

At the beginning, every unexpected situation can make you question everything:

Was it the product?
The prep?
The client?
My technique?
Did I do something wrong?

And that’s where a lot of beginners get stuck — not from lack of effort, but from not knowing how to read what’s happening in front of them.

The more you understand your own decisions, the less you need to rely on copying someone else’s.

And that changes everything.

You can learn 100 different techniques and still feel unsure when a real client sits in front of you.

The problem isn’t always that you need more information.

Sometimes you need to understand how to look at the nail in front of you and decide what actually makes sense for that client.

That’s the part I focus on in my training.

Not just:

“do this, then this, then this.”

But:

What am I looking at?
What does this nail need?
Which product makes sense here?
Why am I choosing this technique?

If you’ve ever heard this from a new client, you probably know that little feeling of pressure that comes with it. 😅

Suddenly, you’re not only thinking about the nails in front of you.

You’re thinking about what happened with the previous nail tech… and trying to make sure it doesn’t happen to you too.

But you don’t need to prove that you can make them last.

You need to understand why they didn’t last before.

And sometimes that starts with something as simple as asking better questions before you even pick up your file.

The more you learn to assess what’s actually in front of you, the less you need to rely on “I’ll just do what I normally do and hope it works.”

That’s a huge part of becoming more independent in your work — not having one perfect routine for every client, but knowing when something needs to change and why.
