Today is St Brigid’s Day, and I truly wish that Brigid’s legacy lives in all women — her strength, her protection, her care.
They’re not things we have to search for… they’re already within us …
On Friday, I had the honour of speaking at a beautiful event organised by at , remembering St Brigid’s life, resilience and impact through the powerful stories of incredible women.
We heard from the inspiring Geraldine Osborne, who spent a year in the Arctic with her three young children — a story that stays with you long after you hear it.
A wonderful panel discussion was facilitated by Amanda Cahir O’Donnell with panelists Aisling O’Toole , Linda Chanders and Lynne Connolly, who so generously shared how their personal journeys and businesses grew side by side.
To speak among such strong, resilient and honest women was an honour in itself.
And creating the St Brigid’s Cross Soap, gifted to each of you by LEO Kildare, was an absolute privilege.
I’m so proud to be part of this community — and honestly, no wonder Kildare people are so incredible 🤍
Thank you, Brigid.

Better late than never... Between the pre-Christmas madness and being under the weather this past week, I’m only now getting a chance to post about the incredible Digital26 event at the Google Foundry last week — and what a brilliant day it was!
I was honoured to be invited to speak on a panel led by the amazing Naomh McElhatton — her energy, passion, and knowledge about AI and digital transformation is truly second to none. It was also a pleasure to meet and share the stage with my fellow panellists Kay Lyng , Niav Riley , and Kim Whyte .ie, as well as Kieran Comerford, Head of Economic Development & Enterprise at Carlow County Council .
As someone rooted in handmade craft, talking about AI and digital tools was definitely outside my creative comfort zone — but I learned so much and was grateful for the opportunity to share how we’ve embraced technology in small, thoughtful ways at Pure Oskar.
Massive thanks to Google and the LEO network (Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Waterford, Wexford & Wicklow) for such a fantastic initiative — I’ve already put some of the learnings into action!

A big thank you to Kilcullen Diary and Brian Byrne for the lovely feature about my upcoming panel appearance at the “Marketing in the AI Digital World” event, taking place at the Google Foundry in Dublin on 13 November.
I'm honoured to be joining an incredible group of speakers to explore how AI and digital tools are reshaping the creative sector — and how we, as makers, can harness innovation without losing the heart of what we do.

Marketing with AI workshop day with Google and LEO Kildare
If you run a craft or creative business and want to optimise your marketing in the AI digital world, an event at the Google Foundry in Dublin on 13 November might be ideal for you, writes Brian Byrne. The event is hosted by Google in partnership with Craftwork4All and the Local Enterprise Offices of Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Waterford, Wexford, and Wicklow.
The day will feature advice from a Google expert on how AI can benefit craft and creative entrepreneurs, along with a demonstration of an AI tool that helps creators produce professional-quality promotional videos. The ethics of AI and practical tips on maximising the technology will also be covered.
The day will culminate in a panel discussion led by tech innovator and AI ethics advocate Naomh McElhatton, with a diverse group of Irish entrepreneurs who have successfully integrated digital thinking into their creative ventures. Among them is Kildare’s Magdalena Seymour of Pure Oskar, whose ethical skincare brand combines sustainability with handmade quality.
Other participants include Kim Whyte of Irish stationery company Pawpear, Kay Lyng of K Kajoux Jewels, Niav Riley of Market Square Studios — a ceramics and homewares creative hub — and Kieran Comerford, Chairperson of the Network of Local Enterprise Offices.
Places are limited. Booking can be made at LEO Kildare.
What a fantastic event organised by yesterday — a true celebration of the extraordinary talent within the Kildare fashion and design community.
We all left feeling inspired, energised, and incredibly proud to be part of such a supportive and creative local network.
It was so lovely catching up with old friends and making new ones, while also gaining valuable insights from some brilliant speakers:
Mary Blanchfield, CEO of the Design & Crafts Council Ireland, who shared thoughtful reflections on the sector
A powerful brand exercise from Jane Manzor (Jane — thank you for that future newspaper headline! I’m now officially preparing for early retirement 😄)
And all of it seamlessly hosted by the wonderful MC, , who brought warmth, humour, and insight to every moment.
Huge thanks to the team at LEO Kildare for bringing us together — community, creativity, and connection at its best.
