12-18 months before your big day, set a skin plan!
Don’t worry if you haven’t got that time frame, minimally invasive treatments can be done.

Firstly; book a consultation with a medical professional that you trust.

Start with the most basic of skin products, for healthy skin;
1. moisturiser
2. anti- oxidant (we love Obagi’s Professional C serum, % depends on skin type)
3. SPF 50
4. Vitamin A (Retinol) start low and go slow, we love Obagi’s Retinol 1.0 Tretinoin is also a Vitamin A, but prescription is required after a consultation. Minimum 3 months before the big day.

Start Obagi Blue Peel Radiance chemical peels minimum 3 months prior your wedding.
Ideally 6 peels every month for 6 months for optimal results for problematic skin.
For brighter, tighter, smoother and decongested skin. Suitable for all skin types.

Minimum 3 months before the big day.

Start skin boosters, a hyaluronic acid based injectable proven to hydrate (improvement in hydration +1400% of hydrating molecules), radiance and firmness. Can be used on the face, neck or décolleté.
A course of x3 treatments every 4-6 weeks is recommended. Minimum 1ml syringe, Natalie personally likes 2mls per treatment.

Minimum 3 months before your big day.

Or the new kid on the block that EVERYONE is talking about, injectable Polynucleotides. This injectable stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which help to improve the texture and elasticity of your skin.
Definitely the most exciting treatment for 2024!!!
3-4 treatments is required 2-3 weeks apart for optimal results. Can be used for face, neck, décolleté, hands, under-eye area, and scarred skin.

Thiamine supplements & mosquitoes 🦟

We all love holidays, but those pesky mosquito bites, no one loves.

Nerdy fact: Apparently mosquitoes hate blood type A! You lucky folks!
For those less fortunate, blood type O, are more universal and ‘tastier’ to them 😭

Ways to avoid mosquito bites include;

1. Covering up
2. Wearing light clothes
3. Using deet
4. Using natural scents (i.e. Citronella, Clove, Cedarwood, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Rosemary & Lemongrass)
5. Avoiding perfumes & scented lotions
6. Avoid mosquito peak times (between sunrise & sunset)
7. Using air con

My local pharmacist (thank you Audrey) advised taking Thiamin supplements daily before going on holidays and while on holidays.

Disclaimer: the clinical research is very mixed and studies have suggested Thiamin does not repel mosquitoes, but this study was done on only one type of mosquito.
Who knew even mosquitoes have different types?!

As a mosquito bite sufferer, who’s ended up with mosquito bites on my eyelids, if this can even help one person while on holidays, then sharing is caring!

(Personal update: day 8 on holidays and still no mosquito bite 🙏)
