Speckle Park! Built for the great outdoors! Maiden heifers running with the young bull. Bale grazing rough ground. Hairy monsters. Red clover silage that went to seed. Interested to see if it self seeds. Happy like a Larry!

First frost of the Autumn. Can’t remember ever having so much grass this time of year. Early check of the Specklies and found new calf buck leaping about the place. Check out my Orb buddy at bottom of screen. Someone was helping with the herding this morning.

Oink Oink! Just some pigs larking about in the woods! Sycamore plantation gives them great shade and is lovely and cool compared to the meadows.

1st day out on the winter grazing. More interested in the grass so far but they’ll soon get used to the Redstart. It’s a Kale/Rape hybrid and will be strip grazed with Haylage offered as a fiber source. Should keep 30ish cows happy for the next few months.

These guys acting a little peculiar this morning and the bull has started to spend more time on his own. Good sign his work here is done. Docility is one of the key traits that first got me excited by Speckle Park cattle. That and the meat quality, fertility, longevity, foraging ability etc etc. Really like working with these characters 😁

The pedicure! Had a foul in left back foot. Let out the infection and packed with Bluestone and bandaged for a week. No antibiotics required. Enda Grogan and the roll over crate a serious job! Trimmed up ready for dancing!

Breeding in full swing at Last. Week later than planned as Big Red was sore on a back foot and needed a pedicure and time to mend. He’s been a busy boy since. Calves expected last week March 2021👊🤘💪🙏
