⚠️ PLEASE READ – IMPORTANT WARNING ABOUT HAIR EXTENSIONS ⚠️
Today I experienced something I never have in all my years of working with hair.
I had a removal booked that should have taken around 1 hour, but it turned into a 6-hour battle.
To be very clear — this was NOT my work and I did not apply these extensions.
What were supposed to be keratin bonds turned out to be more like plastic.
The capsules were:
• Extremely thick
• Applied to far too much hair
• Incorrectly placed and impossible to break down safely
• Nothing like keratin bonds
The client came to me in severe pain and discomfort. Sadly, during the removal she experienced hair loss in patches, and her scalp is badly irritated and damaged. It was absolutely traumatising for her — and honestly for me too. She has had extensions for years and has never experienced anything like this before.
Thankfully, the extensions are now out. At this stage, all that can be done is focus on scalp recovery and hair health — gentle care, plenty of treatments, and supporting the hair from the inside with vitamins and rest.
I’m sharing this to warn anyone considering hair extensions:
Please be so careful about who you go to, what materials are used, and how they are applied. Cheap or untrained work can cause serious, long-term damage.
Hair extensions should never cause pain.
If they do — something is wrong.
