🇮🇪XIV Latvian Culture Festival in Ireland 2025

On 4 May 2025, the 14th Latvian Culture Festival in Ireland (LKSĪ) will take place in the historic Temple Bar district of Dublin, marking the 35th anniversary of the restoration of Latvia’s independence.

The festival will celebrate this important national milestone with a vibrant cultural programme featuring performances by Latvian and international artistic groups.

The event programme includes a festive parade, choir and dance performances, children’s activities, poetry readings, audience participation dances, and a market offering handmade crafts and traditional foods.

Participants will include Latvian community ensembles from Ireland and Latvia, as well as guests from the Lithuanian, Estonian, Georgian, Mongolian, Chinese, Peruvian, African, and Brazilian communities in Ireland.

The idea for the festival was initiated by Inguna Grietiņa-Dārziņa and diplomat Pēteris Kārlis Elferts. Held annually in Dublin’s Old Town since 2011, the festival has grown thanks to the dedication and enthusiasm of many volunteers.

From a small concert, over 14 years the Latvian Culture Festival in Ireland has become the most significant cultural event for the Latvian diaspora in the country, strengthening Latvian traditions, community bonds, and introducing the richness of Latvian culture to the wider public.

🇱🇻XIV Latviešu kultūras svētki Īrijā

2025. gada 4. maijā Dublinas vēsturiskajā Temple Bar kvartālā ( Dublinas vecpilsētā ) norisināsies XIV Latviešu kultūras svētki Īrijā (LKSĪ), atzīmējot Latvijas Neatkarības atjaunošanas 35. gadadienu.

Svētki godinās šo nozīmīgo valsts notikumu ar krāšņu un daudzveidīgu kultūras programmu, kurā piedalīsies gan latviešu, gan citu tautību mākslinieciskās kopas.

Programmā paredzēts svētku gājiens, koru un deju kolektīvu priekšnesumi, bērnu aktivitātes, dzejas lasījumi, dejas kopā ar publiku, kā arī tirdziņš, kurā varēs iegādāties amatnieku darinājumus un nogaršot tradicionālos ēdienus.

Svētku dalībnieku vidū būs mākslinieciskās kopas no Īrijas latviešu diasporas, Latvijas, kā arī viesi no lietuviešu, igauņu, gruzīnu, mongoļu, ķīniešu, peruāņu, afrikāņu un brazīliešu kopienām Īrijā.

Svētku idejas autori ir Inguna Grietiņa-Dārziņa un diplomāts Pēteris Kārlis Elferts. Kopš 2011. gada festivāls norisinās jau četrpadsmito reizi, pateicoties daudzu brīvprātīgo atbalstam un entuziasmam, kas ļāvuši tam augt un attīstīties.

No neliela koncerta Latviešu kultūras svētki Īrijā 14 gadu laikā ir kļuvuši par nozīmīgāko latviešu diasporas kultūras notikumu Īrijā – tie stiprina latviskās tradīcijas, saliedē kopienu un iepazīstina vietējo sabiedrību ar Latvijas kultūras bagātību.
