How does IPL treat sun spots?

Sun spots, also known as age spots or pigmentation, are caused by accumulated UV exposure over time. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) targets excess pigment within the skin, helping to reduce the appearance of these unwanted brown spots and create a more even-looking complexion.

What are MENDS?

Following IPL treatment, the targeted pigment can temporarily darken and become more noticeable. These tiny, darkened spots are known as MENDS (Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris).

This is a normal part of the skin’s renewal process. Over the following days, the darkened pigment gradually dries and flakes away naturally, revealing clearer-looking skin underneath. MENDS can look like tiny coffee grounds on the skin.

What to expect after treatment:

MENDS gradually shed naturally over several days.

Do not pick, scrub or exfoliate the treated area.
