Introducing: Wildflower Wednesdays 🪻
There are so many wildflowers that the bees absolutely love & should be a key fixture in all our gardens 🐝
This is Borage, a beautiful hardy flower that blooms from April-September.
Borage provides lots of nectar & pollen for the bees in comparison to other plants 💛

Some amazing facts on the different sleeping patterns of young vs elderly bees 🐝

Young bees scurry around 24/7 doing the jobs, while older bees spend the day foraging and sleep at night.

The 3 day olds slept as deeply as elderly foragers. However, once foragers wake in the morning they remain active until sunset. Whereas the youngsters only woke for several hours at a time before dozing off again.

This new study has shown the older bees had a well-defined sleep pattern that the youngsters lacked.
