Tiny snails... big appetites! 🐌🌿
One of the questions we're often asked is, "What do baby snails eat?"
The answer is surprisingly simple, they love fresh, leafy greens!
From the moment they hatch, baby snails begin grazing on tender leaves, slowly scraping away with their tiny mouths. As they grow, they continue feeding on a carefully balanced diet that helps them develop strong, healthy shells.
Watching hundreds of tiny snails gather around a fresh leaf is one of our favourite sights on the farm. It might not look like much, but it's the very beginning of an incredible journey.
From these tiny snails on our farm in County Monaghan to the skincare we create, every stage is treated with care and respect.

💬 One question we get asked every day...
"Why are Bragan products fragrance-free?"
It's a simple question, but the answer is an important one.
Many of the people who choose Bragan have dry, sensitive or eczema-prone skin. While added fragrance is perfectly suitable for many people, it can be an unnecessary source of irritation for others.
That's why we made the decision to leave it out.
Instead of focusing on how our products smell, we focus on what they do, helping to moisturise dry skin, support the skin barrier and keep our formulations as gentle as possible.
Sometimes, what we leave out is just as important as what we put in.

Even snails know when it's time to stay out of the sun! ☀️🐌
While many of us are enjoying the warm weather, our snails are doing the exact opposite.
When temperatures get too high, they head for the coolest, shadiest spots they can find. You'll often see them tucked away beneath leaves or climbing into sheltered areas where it's cooler and more humid.
Snails thrive in mild, damp conditions, so on hot days they slow right down and wait for the temperature to drop before becoming active again.
Nature has given them a pretty clever way of knowing when it's time to take a break!
It's another reminder that even the smallest creatures adapt to look after themselves when conditions change.

Who's stealing whose lunch? 🐌😂
It looks like this little baby snail has decided the grown-up's food looks much better than its own!
Snails might move slowly, but when there's food involved, they're surprisingly determined.
Here's a fact that always amazes people...
🦷 A snail has around 22,000 tiny teeth.
They're not like our teeth, though. Instead, they're arranged on a ribbon-like tongue called a radula, which they use to scrape and nibble their food. It's one of the reasons they're so efficient at eating leaves and plants.
Watching these little characters on the farm never gets old. Every day there's another tiny drama unfolding!

🐌 Every Bragan product started with a conversation.
People often ask how Bragan Skincare began. The truth is, it was never something I planned.
A radio feature about snail farming during the COVID lockdowns caught my attention. Curiosity led me to start our family snail farm in County Monaghan, and working with the snails eventually inspired our very first product, Bragan Atopic Cream.
But the products that followed were shaped by the people who trusted us with their stories.

🐌 **Emergency rescue operation underway.**
Found this little lad stranded on the ground today, so out came the official Bragan Snail Rescue Equipment… a wooden fork. 🍴
They’re far too delicate to lift by hand, so every rescue has to be carried out with the care, precision and professionalism of a highly trained snail farmer.
He has now been safely returned to his leafy accommodation and is expected to make a full recovery. 🐌💚
