As I sit here looking at this picture writing this, I am filled with pride, love and gratitude.
They say you’ve never worked a day like a hairdresser in December, and yes they may be right 🤣🤣 BUT while we stress, rush around, get FA sleep, are under pressure and running on empty, we live for Xmas eve 🤭🤣
The sigh of relief that we made it, the craziness is over for another while and now we can chill.. And while enjoying that sigh, all of a sudden, we forget the pressure, stress and everything else that comes with the hectic side of this job. We can finally stand still and enjoy it, while remembering the fun and laughter we’ve had over the last few weeks.
And for me, I look back over the last 4 weeks and I’m so grateful to have the busy salon I have. I’m so grateful for the amazing bunch of girls I have working for me, and the truly kind and amazing bunch of clients who walk through my door

Thank you to EVERYONE who has welcomed us into your life as your hairdresser, because we love having you as part of our Inspire family ❤️

Thank you all so much for the cards, gifts, and endless boxes of monster 🤣🤣🤣

Let’s talk about ART 🎨🖌️

Art is expression. It’s the way people communicate emotions, ideas, and experiences through different mediums—painting, music, dance, writing, hair, fashion, anything that moves people.

MY art is in the way I transform hair, the way I create colour, tones, shadows, lightness and depth. The skills I use to create different shapes to complement the colours, different bends on the hair to grab the light to reflect shine on the different tones of the hair.
Art isn’t just what hangs on the wall —it’s everything that brings your creative vision to life.

For me, art is hair !

They say a good workman never blames his tools, HOWEVER, a good artist knows the difference in good quality.

As you may or may not be aware, the brand of colour Inspire has advocated for since opening, almost 9 years ago, has now been pulled away from us, and is no longer in distribution from my supplier in Ireland.
This news came to me in December, and to say I was shocked and literally heartbroken is an understatement..
Kemon has been a long standing colour and care brand in my career, and now, things are changing.

It’s very easy for me to just, pick the most popular brand and run with it.
But a good artist wouldn’t do that with their paints, a good dancer wouldn’t pick any old pair of shoes, and a good hairdresser won’t just settle for any old colour !

I pride myself in my colour work, my knowledge in hair and colour science, my skills and the meticulous precision in the way I work. Therefore, any colour brand just won’t cut it for me and especially for Inspire.
Over the last 6 weeks, I have been researching, reading, watching, listening. I’ve reached out to salons, hairdressers, suppliers, looking for information on 6 different brands that have stood out to me.
I have also been introduced to a brand which is new to the Irish market. One that is very well known and respected in other countries, but here, well, no one knows it.
I’m working on it 😂😜

These brands are being put to the test against each other behind the scenes!

The brand Inspire will take on, will be the best !

We have electricity and for the moment we have water. (I think)
I’m not sure if we are running off what’s in the tank or if we are all good, so the salon will open tomorrow as usual, and I’ll take it from there.

** OFFERING HELP **

I am aware there is still a lot of people without power. While I can’t guarantee water, I can offer you electricity!

If anyone needs anything charged please do not hesitate to call in with your devices.
We have at least 10 free sockets available tomorrow if anyone needs them.
ALSO !!
If anyone has food to cook and can do so in a slow cooker, bring it in and cook your food in the salon.

I will be open from 7am to 8pm, you can drop off ur slow cooker and collect it later in the day, all cooked easy peasy. Just prep the food urself 😂 I’ll be busy doing hair 😆

You don’t have to be a client of the salon, we will welcome anyone, so don’t be afraid to reach out.
