Dirty brushes carry bacteria, dead skin cells, and weeks of old product buildup. And every time you use them you are pressing all of that directly into your skin.
The fix is simpler than you think. Fairy liquid. The palm of your hand. Two minutes. 👏🏼
Michelle demonstrates exactly how to do it properly in this reel, squeeze a small amount of fairy liquid into your clean palm. Wet the brush and swirl it gently into the liquid using circular motions. Rinse under lukewarm water until the water runs completely clear. Reshape the bristles and lay flat on a clean towel to dry - never stand upright or the water runs into the ferrule and loosens the bristles over time. Your skin will thank you immediately.

Here is every DO and DONT to make sure your tan does exactly what it’s supposed to 🫧
BEFORE YOUR TAN🫶🏻
•Exfoliate thoroughly the day before - focus on knees, elbows, ankles, and wrists where skin is driest and colour tends to cling
• Shave or wax at least 24 hours before your appointment, never on the same day
• Arrive with clean, dry skin. No moisturiser, no deodorant, no perfume on the skin before your tan
• Wear or bring loose clothing to your appointment. Preferably dark so you can’t see any tan transfer. This is not optional!
AFTER YOUR TAN‼️
• Allow your tan to develop fully before showering, your beauty therapist will advise you on your specific development time.
• When you do shower, rinse properly. Washing your tan off after it has developed is not going to make it lighter. It removes the cosmetic bronzer on top and reveals the actual tan underneath. Not washing it off will not make it darker or make it last longer. What it will do is make your skin drier and patchier far more quickly. Rinse it. Trust the process
• Moisturise every single day after your tan. This is the number one thing that makes a tan last.
• Pat dry after showering, never rub
THE MOST IMPORTANT DON’T! 🙅🏻♀️
• Do not wear tight clothing home after your spray tan. We cannot say this enough. Tight waistbands, denim jeans, underwire bras, tight leggings. Anything that sits snugly against your skin while your tan is still developing will leave indentations, lines, and streaks that cannot be fixed. Wear loose, dark clothing. A loose dress or wide leg trousers are perfect.
Your tan will thank you.
•Do not moisturise, exfoliate, or use any oil based products between your tan application and your first rinse.
• Do not exercise or do anything that causes heavy sweating while your tan is developing.

Twenty years ago, a young woman named Michelle opened the doors of Aviary Beauty and Hair in Newbridge with one simple belief, that every single person who walked through that door deserved to feel genuinely looked after 🤍
Not just looked after. Seen. Valued. Cared for ⭐️
Twenty years later, we are still here. Still in the same town. Still with the same belief. And we are more proud of what this place has become than we have ever been 🥹
But Aviary is not a building. It is not a treatment room or a styling chair or a product wall. Aviary is the people inside it.
It is the clients who found us in our very first year and are still sitting in our chairs today 🫶🏻
The ones who trusted us with their wedding hair, their first facial, their daughters first brow wax. The ones who have watched this team grow up alongside them. The ones who sent their mothers, their sisters, their best friends through our door because they trusted us enough to share us. You are not just clients. You have never just been clients. You are the reason we are still here. 🥹😭🥂
It’s a bittersweet one for us here today, because as we celebrate our birthday, we are saying goodbye to our very own Claire who has been with us for 11 years 😭😭 we love you Claire! 🤍🤍
