Tonight, Portlaoise gets a front-row seat to something extraordinary. 🌒
The solar eclipse begins at 18:13, reaches maximum at 19:11, with about 95% of the Sun covered, and ends at 20:06.
Best viewing window: 18:45–19:30. Face west and find a clear view of the horizon.
No eclipse glasses? Do not improvise direct eye protection. Use a safe indirect method such as a pinhole projector or a colander/strainer projection instead. Ordinary sunglasses are not safe for looking at the Sun.
Take it in. Take photos of the projected crescent. And protect your eyes.
