My time with this student really left me reflecting.

So many of the students I’ve worked with have been failed by the mainstream education system. Their confidence has been chipped away simply because they don’t fit neatly into a certain academic box. Over time, many begin to feel lost, disconnected, and without direction.

But the transformation that happens when they start learning with their hands is incredible to witness. Suddenly, they engage differently. They focus differently. They begin to realise they are capable — they just needed a learning environment that works for them, rather than sitting in a classroom staring at a whiteboard, unstimulated and daydreaming (something I know many of us can relate to).

We need to move away from the idea that success only comes through a college degree. There is value, purpose, and opportunity in so many different paths, and every person has something to offer.

This lady left me with a twinkle in her eye and a pep in her step. Watching someone rediscover confidence in themselves is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. ✨
