π¦Ά Talking Plantar Fascitiis
With all the new runners out there since the lock down I've had a few contacts about feet pain and PF in particular.
Lets break it down.
The plantar fascia runs along the base of the foot, it hurts because for the most part its stressed beyond belief. "It feel's tight and I need to stretch it" - Common from everyone
What you may need is to just get the foot moving better again, there are 30 odd joints in the foot and if these cannot move well or become stuck in a position you're going to stress the PF.
If you have a flat foot your PF is going to be long or stretched and if you have a high arch your PF is squashed short neither a good place to be stuck.
Ideally you want to be able to get your foot into both of these positions and give the tissue back the ability to both lengthen and shorten as it was designed to do.
To absorb force and then reuse it when needed.
Moving your foot into pronation and supination is a good place to start.
Have you got PF ?
I'll be answering some of your questions tonight drop a comment or DM me π
