Christine's grey blending journey 🩶

Back in February, Christine made the decision to start embracing her grey rather than constantly fighting it.

Like many colour journeys, this didn't happen in one appointment. It took time, patience, trust in the process and a few in-between stages that weren't necessarily the final look we were aiming for.

But that's often the reality of a big colour change.
By gradually lifting away the warmth, softening, blending and working with Christine's beautiful natural silver, Rebecca created a colour that is softer, brighter and so much more natural.

The best transformations aren't always the quickest ones.

Hats off to Rebecca for her patience, skill and beautiful work throughout this journey. The final transformation took place over a 6 hour training day but we think the results were worth it, I think you will agree?

Louise recently joined our team after beginning her journey in the hair industry last August, and she has already fitted into salon life here so well.

She’s shown such a passion for all things hair, genuinely loves looking after clients, and is always eager to learn more. We can’t wait for all our lovely Plush clients to get to know her over the coming months.

Louise works with us Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays, so make sure to say hello when you’re next in the salon .

Sometimes the person behind the chair is carrying things too.

One thing we’ve learned over the years is that this job has never been just about hair.
Some days you sit in our chair and open up to us…
and other days, without even realising it, you’re there for us too.

There are days we've come into work trying to keep it all together, and somehow a simple conversation with a client has left us feeling lighter by the end of the appointment.

Sometimes it’s hearing “I’ve been there too.”
Sometimes it’s advice.
Sometimes it’s just someone listening and understanding.
And I think that’s the special thing about this industry.
Yes, we do hair… but there’s also so much connection behind the chair.
So many conversations, shared experiences, encouragement and support.

Just real life, real conversations and kindness.
So this is just a little thank you.

To every client who has laughed with us, cried with us, listened to us, supported us, or shared a little piece of their story with us over the years…
It means more than you probably realise.

We’re so lucky for the lovely community we’ve built in Plush.
For the clients who have become friends, confidantes, and people we genuinely look forward to welcoming into our chairs and catching up with every day.

Our lovely client felt ready to move away from her previous colour and go back to something deeper and more natural.

took the time to gently work through the hair, covering out the old tones and bringing everything back to one rich, even colour using our new colour range.

It’s something I notice all the time during consultations…

So many people have had extensions before, spent a lot of money on them, and still don’t know what brand of hair was used.
And if I’m honest, that’s something that has always baffled me!!

If you’re investing that kind of money, you should know exactly what you’re getting, the brand, the quality of the hair, the technology behind it, and be able to go off and look it up yourself and feel confident in your choice.

Extensions are an investment, and you deserve full transparency around that.

My ethos as a hairdresser has always been that we only apply what will truly benefit the hair and not cause damage in the long run.

And hand on heart, I know we can stand over that in our salon with the brands we choose to work with.
Not all extensions are the same, and what works for one person won’t always suit another.

That’s why consultations are such an important part of what we do.

We take the time to talk everything through properly,
offer honest advice, and never put pressure on anyone, so you can feel comfortable, informed and confident in your decision.

Not all extensions are created equal!

This client came to me after having both bonds and tapes done elsewhere, but neither of them really worked for her.

The bonds didn’t give her the result she was hoping for, and the tapes she had were just too heavy and bulky for her finer hair.

So we kept it really simple.
We used Great Lengths Aria tapes and just added one row through her hair, just enough to fill out the hair without it feeling heavy or too much.

These tapes are so lightweight, blend in really naturally, and the difference they made straight away was lovely and exactly what she needed.

We had it all done in under an hour,
and she couldn’t get over how light her hair felt after.
And that’s always the goal…
