One way system “trial” 3 month period is almost up🤔🤔🤔
So after 3 months of the one way system in place the councillors of Wicklow town think it’s been a success.. these councillors obviously don’t shop too often in the town because if they did they’d see that it’s a complete disaster. Businesses within the area of the one way system are suffering, resulting in some having to reduce staff. The parking is a shambles.. at least 2/3 arguments daily over blocking people in. People falling over the bollards in place to direct traffic. Funerals coming down the street so the main street has be blocked off for 45 minutes. Dust bin lorries holding traffic up. Councillor shay Cullen thinks 99% of people are happy… honestly this article in the Wicklow people is the biggest amount of waffleology Iv read in a long long time. This is a perfect example of the council afraid to admit they were wrong so they’ll just keep pushing on with it till people forget about it. Councillor paul o Brien saying his phone has quietened down?? Maybe because all the retailers were told that it had to stay there in place for the 3 months and nothing could be done about it, so what was the point in us contacting you. 3 councillors I spoke to said they never wanted the one way system put in place and now they’re all saying they did🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️
Last month us retailers got together to discuss the one way system and how it was effecting our businesses and a councillor decided to call us a political group as if we were organising a coup of the council🤦🏻‍♂️ since the one way was brought in the town is like a ghost town, but yet it’s been a “success”🙄🙄
Since we’re told 99% of people are happy with it I’d love to hear everyone’s opinions.. please if you can share this and leave a comment with your opinions because all the shop keepers would love to hear what everyone has to say. Rant over 🙈🙈

just to add.. A councillor giving out about not been invited to the meeting of retailers but yet no retailers were invited to the meeting to implement the one way system👍🏻👍🏻
