Report the message or conversation:

For individual messages: Tap and hold the message, then select Report and choose "It's spam" or another appropriate reason. 

For a whole conversation: Open the chat, tap the person's name at the top, select Options, then Report, and follow the prompts. 

2. Block the sender:

After reporting, you can block the account to prevent them from sending you messages or requests in the future. 

3. Delete the message or conversation:

Swipe left on the message to delete it, or delete the entire chat to remove it from your inbox. 

How to prevent spam in the future

1. Filter message requests:

Go to Settings > How others can interact with you > Messages and story replies and adjust your privacy settings to control who can send you message requests. 

2. Use the "Hidden Words" feature:

In the same Messages section, turn on the Hidden Words feature and add custom phrases (like "DM us," "crypto," or "Giveaway") that appear in spam messages to filter them out automatically. 

3. Keep your account private:

Set your account to private to prevent strangers from easily sending you unwanted messages or adding you to groups. 

4. Protect your account:

Enable two-factor authentication and use strong, unique passwords to prevent your account from being hacked and used to send spam. 

5. Be wary of suspicious links:

Never click on suspicious links in messages, as these are often part of phishing scams designed to steal your login credentials. Check the "Emails from Instagram" section in your account settings for legitimate messages from Instagram.
