Akotogbo yesterday Thursday 13-14th March, 2025, witnessed a traditional rite which lifts the ban which was previously placed on the use of drum.
The traditional rite which was chaired by the Larogbo and Paramount Ruler of Akotogbo kingdom is known as "Irokute " in Akotogbo kingdom saw different cultural displays.
The traditional event which was held at the front of the sacred house of the kingdom ( Oju Owa ) was in segments.
Songs meant for each segment were sung.
As custom demands, a total of two hundred and one songs were sung during the traditional rite.
Kabiyesi in his remarks greets the High chiefs, the chiefs and the good people of Akotogbo kingdom and he prays that over his watch, Akotogbo would continue to witness peace and unprecedented progress and development.
Taking cognizance of the fact the daughters of the kingdom both home and abroad will visit their paternal home in few days time, the revered monarch prays that God should grant them journey mercy.
