Surguja is undoubtedly one of the up coming District in Chhattisgarh. But unfortunate the people of the District are under below poverty. The majority of the population comprising of a large percentage of socially, economically, educationally and agriculturally backward people. Efforts are afloat by the Government and other bodies for the improvement of living conditions of the people but much headway has not been made in that direction. It is therefore left to the voluntary agencies and similar organizations to create a social awareness in the people and to remove stigma of poverty in them to the extent possible.
The Surguja Science Group is a voluntary organization and established to serve for all the poorest of the poor and their children irrespective of casts, poorest of the poor and their children irrespective of casts, creed or race in Rural and Urban Slum areas of all districts in the State of Chhattisgarh.
