Our first trip to China was seriously something else. The whole place just feels like it’s operating on a different level. What really struck me first was how smooth everything is—there’s barely any visible political noise or religious tension in day-to-day life. People just seem locked in, focused on what they’re doing, and moving forward.

The tech, though—that’s on another planet. You’ve got robots actually being used in real life, not just for show, and driverless cars already out on the roads like it’s normal. Everything—from transport to payments to infrastructure—runs like a perfectly tuned machine. It’s fast, efficient, and honestly a bit mind-blowing to see in action.

The way land works is pretty unique. Since it’s all state-owned and leased out, development feels super intentional. Cities don’t just grow—they’re built with purpose. You can feel that structure everywhere you go.

And the people? Way more approachable than I expected. Even with language barriers, there’s a natural friendliness. But more than that, there’s this vibe that people are just… free to get on with life. Free to hustle, build, and push ahead without unnecessary friction.

The work ethic is on a whole different level too. People grind hard, and it shows. There’s a real hunger to grow, and the system—especially taxes and business environment—seems to support that. It’s like the whole country is wired for progress.

China just feels fast, sharp, and future-ready. Like the rest of the world is catching up, and they’re already onto the next thing. So where does India stand in comparison to them ? Sadly we are locked onto problems that hinder our progress and keep us in our colonial roots. A big thank you to our architect Mrs . sudha who came on this work shopping trip with us and my brother from another mother who has always supported our progress in every way.

Even though we do share a lot of before and afters , there is an emotion that stretches out of an after photo and very often come out either as a message , a hug or sweets for the entire clinic. It’s in these moments that a full circle is achieved by our patients and the outpouring is honest , raw and makes it all worth it. It reiterates our belief and confidence that the blessings that come out of this will take us a long way in the future. A tummy tuck and the hard work of our patient has made this result extraordinary . Remember that your doctor and you always meet half way to give that ooommph. Good day

Burns in young kids is painful , physically and emotionally. When this young patient came to us with severe burns over both hands and forearms, the road ahead was long and uncertain. He bravely underwent multiple surgeries and skin grafting and months of treatment, facing each step with incredible courage and resilience. Watching his wounds gradually heal and his hands regain function has been deeply rewarding for our entire team. Today, he is fully healed — a powerful reminder that with perseverance, expert care, and hope, even the toughest journeys can have a beautiful outcome.

It is always a pleasure and an honour to participate and be a faculty at India’s biggest conference for aesthetic plastic surgery . This is where nuances are discussed and learnt , so that our patients get the best of the best. Always fun to interact with the best and brightest in the field of aesthetic surgery in India and across the world which keeps me on toes and makes everyone want to get better at their work . With the mass acceptance and increase in aesthetic surgery in India , we need to give our patients the best , so that we stand at par or even better than the rest of the world . It was an excellently organised conference by .ashokbc who is a stalwart plastic surgeon and the sweetest man and did give me sage advice 10 years back which has helped grow .healthcare grow.

It was a surreal experience to present our work on rhinoplasty at the world congress of aesthetic surgery - ISAPS OLYMPIAD last week. To have the responsibility of representing your country on the world stage and to have the great rhinoplasty surgeon as our moderator and from Singapore , has been my greatest honour . The Indian contingent is getting stronger every year and goes to show how we in our small way are increasing our footprint in every field .
And the cherry on top our work on Rhinoplasty in binders syndrome won the Bronze ISAPS OLYMPIAD AWARD in the Rhinoplasty category.
Coming back to work today after a conference/holiday in the beautiful city of Singapore rejuvenated and eager to get back to work

I am proud to say my dad operated for the first time .healthcare, an eminent ENT surgeon from Mangalore , as a child I used to hang out with receptionists of different hospitals as I would get bored in the car when dad went to see his patients. The reason to become a doctor wasn’t the basic social career construct of our country but it was him.
